Herschel Walker has endless problems as a man and as a candidate, but he bought his A game to the debate on Friday.  Huey Long had a very sharp legal mind which was well hidden by clownish behavior and country speech.  Walker may have been underestimated by friends and foes which is not a bad place to be in a political race.

“Has endless problems as a man” would describe any one of us. Though I remain unconvinced by the “evidence” brought against him. The media has proven too much of late they will decide guilt by implication (instead of beyond reasonable doubt). I will no linger believe any crime the media accuses those it dislikes of.

Very few of us have bastard children, a self-admitted personality disorder and threatened, seriously, to kill loved ones.

About 40% of the men born after 1985 who have sired a child have sired a ba*tard and not married the mother. It’s lower for earlier cohorts, to be sure. The term ‘personality disorder’ is a taxon favored by mental health tradesmen.

Amen.

Which Walker has used Art.

He got from someone in the mental health trade.

Whats the percentage Art for having three different kids out of wedlock with three different women.

No clue. I’m personally acquainted with a man who has sired six children by four women. He was married to the mother of the last one. You would be flabbergasted if I told you what he does for a living and the company for which he works. He has a salaried bourgeois job, as does his wife.

on employees with disorderly private lives.

In fairness, the disorder I know about was during the period running from 1978 to 2001. He was married in 2005. If there’s been any mess since then, I’m not aware of it.

“Oh lord, I thank you that I am not like that tax collector over there, a sinner…”

The faults of others do not take away the faults of ourselves.

(Though there is probably a joke there about “if you’ve never threatened to kill a loved ones you must have a very small thanksgiving gathering.”)

As the saying goes, “Good decisions come from experience, and experience comes from bad decisions.” When it comes to elections, the question is has the candidate grown and learned from their sins (Reagan) or still indulges them (Clinton, Biden). If you want to make the case Walker has not changed – then have it. Otherwise we’re playing into the leftist paradigm that each man is only the worst moment of their life. The Christian paradigm should allow for repentance and improvement even from politicians (even if experience dampens our hope).
