Yesterday, in front of our local Worse than Murder hut, I prayed all the major mysteries of the Rosary as passerbys shook their heads and exhibited their IQ with one finger.
A thought of deep gratitude came over me as I did my witness. We are here for such a very short time and these moments of public witness will live on in eternity.
The Tennessee 11 and the tens of thousands of other sidewalk prayer warriors are privileged. They have been given great faith and their use of that faith will be richly rewarded.
St. Paul too was exiled, stoned, beaten, locked up and worse..but he counted it as nothing compared to the great glory of living in Christ.
Amen brothers and sisters.

It will be interesting to see if the attorneys for these dangerous terrorists (sarc) raise an affirmative defense challenging the constitutionality of the “FACE” act in light of Dobbs. I’m told one of the pro-life law firms in DC is offering to represent all eleven of the defendants at nominal cost.

Let their courage hold their hearts in firm trust that our Lord will protect them during this trial. I’m praying for them also.
And 90% of our bishops, including those at the top, remain silent. Possibly they should re-read the admonition to those with great responsibility and their duties.

Question for Donald- putting aside the weaponization of this all, what is the legal rationale for going in guns drawn? Does there have to be some sort of reasonable expectation of violence/resistance/whatever, or is there wide discretion in regards to this? Or is it more the sort of thing that judges are willing to look the other way most of the time and defer to law enforcement?

A wide discretion due to the law being poorly crafted. I think these prosecutions are being undertaken for purely political purposes prior to the midterms to whip up the pro-abort minions of the Democrat party. I doubt if there is an assumption that there will be ultimate convictions. As a legal strategy this is despicable, but even as a political strategy it is madness. The Dems already have the votes of the pro-abort fanatics, and this is going to alienate quite a few other voters and drive them to the polls. But intelligence and the Puppetmasters Administration are not on speaking terms.
