Mass protests are continuing in Iran after a woman was reportedly beaten to death by the Sharia police for a hijab violation. People have been burning hijabs & calling for the downfall of the Islamic regime. In response, Iranian police have killed dozens. pic.twitter.com/efqFnAAR8T

I read most of this book by a soldier who had participated in the Iranian revolution.

His talk about the road to revolution gave me haunting feelings of deja vu. I dread that America is going to repeat their mistake and trade a culture and society that’s not perfect, but decent and improving, for a tyranny disguised as a utopian dream. Would that all people could live in peace and freedom.
Rita Panahi is Persian and is highly critical of Islam. There are more like her. Particularly those from families who fled around the time the Shah was exiled. Moderate Islamists who loath the current Iranian regime.
