We still watch both of his sitcoms regularly, thanks to Decades TV, and his first comedy album, The Button-Down Mind, is tops on my comedy playlist. Happy Birthday indeed!
My dad passed on to me a love of Bob Newhart watching his second show, Newhart, a lot growing up. (We’ve since got it on DVD and rewatch it whenever we want now.) He always seems like a good sport willing to make himself the butt of the joke more often than anyone else on screen. Him, Don Adams, and Red Skeleton probably some of my favorite classic comedians. (Besides the obligatory 3 stooges)
Best last episode ever, period.
