You know I wonder if he didn’t get the idea for doing this from all the democrat endorsements for Liz Cheney. That is the way his mind works, and it is pretty hilarious to watch. Al Franken pointed out one time that Trump never laughs—that was supposed to be disparaging. But this is because the joke is always on everyone else.
“that Trump never laughs”
Only if he is watching Al Franken the unfunniest comedian in the known universe.
Franken & Davis were satisfactory as comics. It was Franken’s political commentary (and attempts at humor therein) which was unfunny.
Franken’s political performance was the real joke.

“Franken & Davis were satisfactory as comics.”
Tastes vary. I have appreciated over the years various comics I disagreed with politically. Franken always left me wondering if he was doing a parody of a desperately unfunny comic.
Only saw Franken on Saturday Night Live a few times. Not funny. Disliked his voice too.. Still dislike his voice.
I find it a bit ironic that the only SNL Franken and Davis skit that made me “LOL” (decades before social media, of course) was the one in which they acted out a series of opposing candidates’ campaign ads. Franken’s character smears his opponent with repeated allegations of, IIRC, alcohol and drug abuse, holding up brown envelopes marked “Evidence” and “Solid Evidence”, which of course are never opened. Each of Franken’s “ads” ends with the line, “So vote for me, Pete Tagliani. You’ll be glad you did.” As the skit proceeds, the opponent becomes gradually more and more unhinged in his denials of the smear. I can’t remember how it ended, and it seems to have been removed from You Tube (Shocked! Shocked!), but it was classic Democrat politics all the way- never waste time arguing issues when you can engage in personal attacks. It must have been a seamless transition for Franken into actually running for office.
Elizabeth Rivera: I didn’t get the email one day about a month ago but it was only one day. Since then the emails returned. Don’t know why.
