Apparently the Germans have a spelling problem. Since they believe in doing what the Church forbids– it is the Sin-odal way.

It isn’t just Germany; it is at the heart of the Vatican: https://www.ncregister.com/news/analysis-pontifical-academy-for-life-pushes-to-change-churchs-opposition-to-contraception
.
I have only seen news of this in National Cath Register

What Francis has done to the Pontifical Academy for Life is a travesty

Bishop Strickland is a mensch, and is absolutely right to speak up about this person and how wrong it is to give her any say in shaping the Church’s future.

Bishop Strickland is also one of the few bishops who spoke out in support of Archbishop Cordileone’s decision to deny Communion to Nancy Pelosi.

Bishop Strickland’s diocese is Tyler, Texas; a city of slightly over 100,000 people. East Texas is very Baptist, and Catholics are far fewer there than in the general US population. Yet this year Tyler will see two men ordained to the priesthood— which is the same number of men who will be ordained this year for the entire Archdiocese of Chicago.

Bishop Strickland invited the FSSP to run St. Joseph’s parish in Tyler, and also has a regular Sunday Latin Mass in his cathedral.

I suspect that during this pontificate, Bishop Strickland can expect nothing but the cold shoulder from both the USCCB and Rome. Which is a shame for the Church at large, but good news for the flock in his care— they have a treasure in their Bishop.

There were some in the Bronx, and it’s hard to tell where the recently-ordained Franciscan Friars of the Renewal are located, but you’re right, I can’t find anything about the Archdiocese of New York having priestly ordinations this year.

It’s all part of the plan. Always has been. You see, if only we had women preist, we’d have plenty of vocations to the Preisthood. Those Diocese without ordinations are merely fulfilling their role.

Little Winsted, Ct. (with our Franciscans) just had two ordinations this year and another local man in the seminary now. Otherwise, the entire Hartford archdiocese, for the first time in over 100 years, had none. Go figure.

I don’t recall Bp Strickland raising his voice in protest when the Commie Cootie lockdown of 2020 shut down churches and practically all medical procedures, but left abortion clinics open or when the Texas Bishops went after Texas Right to Life. This is also the same Bp. Strickland who tweeted his support for Bp. Mark Seitz using children as political props in protest of Trump policies.

Bp Strickland also, quite publicly, went on record as stating that AB Vigano’s allegations against Pope Francis should be investigated … I’m not sure how he kept his miter after that.

Don L.

The small faithful…small Catholic communities that promote devotion to Mary, daily Rosary, Holy Hours with perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, TLM, and continually having Adult formation catchiest available will usher in an authentic indwelling of The Holy Spirit.

It shouldn’t be a surprise.

The holiness of a few devoted widows praying for their Church and it’s resurgence will produce adequate fruit not because solely of their sacrifices, but because of their unfailing FAITH.

In 2008 a miracle happened. July 16th 2008. The ordination of one of the most devoted and loving seminarians in history took place.

The prayers were answered by the widows.

This priest, became our pastor at Holy Rosary parish in Cedar Michigan.

The renewal started.
The vocations to religious life started.
The 14 male altar boys became serious about their responsibilities.
The hours of adoration are the reason for the rebirth of Holy Rosary.
Jesus was brought out.
Jesus is honored and adored.
Graces flow.
The Church thrives and children help fill the pews.

Jesus does this.

It’s all Him.

Bring him out of the Tabernacle.

NOW.

The German Schism is the result of Pope Francis inability to defend our Catholic Faith. He’s weak. The Amazonian Synod is another failure of his. Pontifical Academy For Life – he fires pro-life lay persons, scientists and doctors, and appoints atheists and pro abortion members. WTH!
The only good thing PF has done lately is criticize Biden’s stance on abortion. .
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/pope-derides-bidens-abortion-views-catholic-self-identity-as-incoherence/ar-AAZxZ7j Here are excerpts:
Asked about Biden — a self-professed “devout Catholic” who supports blanket legalization of abortion on the federal level — the pope dismissed the president as incomprehensible.
“A month after conception, the DNA of the fetus is already there and the organs are aligned. There is human life,” the pope said in the Univision interview. “Is it just to eliminate a human life?”
He added that Biden should instead question his own conscience and consult with his bishop.
“I leave it to [President Biden’s] conscience and that he speaks to his bishop, his pastor, his parish priest about that incoherence,” the pope remarked.

@Cam good for him and glad he said that. However, funny that we Catholics prop our heads at the slightest faithful statement bevause they are so few and rare.

PF statements are incoherent and are inconsistent. PF would benefit in questioning his own conscience.

I’m not making excuses, I know there’s been a crisis for years, but I wonder if any of this year’s decline is due to academics being on hold during covid.

Oh, and I was about to say “vocations crisis”, but I don’t know if that’s true. There are vocations to religious life, I’m sure, that aren’t getting recognized or are getting abandoned. The same is true for marriage, maybe even moreso. The phrase “vocations crisis” always makes it sound like God isn’t giving plans to enough people anymore.

I think democrats and socialists now think it is ok to criticize Biden. The pope is himself incomprehensible, unless choosing to discern him by his fruits. His circumlocutions and internally contradictory pontificate is not accidental, but purposeful.

Anzlyne, I agree. This Pope says a lot of things, that when taken together are either contradictory or so vague as to be meaningless. Ultimately, he uses words to obscure, not clarify. It seems to me that he says what his audience at the time wants to hear, even while his actions betray his opposite intentions.

The only way to understand a man like that is to turn down the audio on his meaningless talk, and look dispassionately at both what he does and with whom he chooses to surround himself.

Unfortunately, that’s not an edifying spectacle.

“If only we had women priests” we would still have nothing, less than nothing. No such creature as a “woman priest” Those individuals propagating for women priests are wasting their lives.

“If only we had women priests, there would be no vocation crisis” is the same reason as “If only we had women, gays and trannsexuals in the army, there would be no recruiting crisis.”
