It is four decades since my paternal grandmother died. A Protestant saint if ever there was one. She told me that though she wasn’t Catholic she hoped I would pray for her after her death and I have done so. Such prayers bind us to our loved ones on the other side, and remind us of the powerful truth that none of us are ever alone.
