Americans like lower housing prices too that’s actually why most are leaving. Thing is, housing prices go up with demand, families mean schools, schools mean taxes.
Looking at the map the those-who-don’t-know would think that all of Massachusetts is Blue, it’s not… https://www.boston.com/news/politics/2020/11/04/massachusetts-trump-towns-2020/. and all of the state is urban it’s not….https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deerfield_River
Argh “narrative” is everywhere.
When the Great Division comes Dave, if it comes, the red areas in Blue States are going to be part of it. We will not be abandoned.
I’ve had occasion to wonder if we couldn’t arrange to divide North America into a series of successor states. About 2/3 of the population would be in the main successor with its capital in St. Louis or Kansas City. It would be highly decentralized and have different ceremonial in the Canadian portions. Then you’d have two territorial states – Quebec and New England / Maritimes – again with different ceremonial on the Canadian side. Then you’d have about 10 city-states or city-state federations on the coasts – New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore / Washington, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay, Portland / Seattle / Vancouver, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto.
It gets even more impressive when you consider that places like Iowa have been exploding, demographically.
Viva Frei has pulled up stakes and moved from Canada to Florida.
Don, if a great division were to come, please God no.. it would be over in about 5 minutes. Red has all the firearms.
The debate on abortion has just begun. Opportunity, because In spite of what these demon Dems think, a majority of People Everywhere do not want late term abortion.
The more people think about abortion Dave, the less people tend to like it. The enforcement of the fugitive slave laws in the North in the 1850s caused a lot of Northerners to confront an evil they didn’t wish to think about. With Roe the pro-aborts could pretend that the issue was “settled”. That evil illusion has now been blown to abortionist Hell. Abortion will be a campaign issue now in each election and for the minority of people who vote based on abortion, pro-life voters have always outnumbered the pro-aborts in most states.
Red states have all the legally-purchased firearms.
The thing about the county map is that most of those are 60/40 either way. It’s interesting that the arrows in the first map correspond to the other article’s abortion laws map.
Many people from the Northeast and Great Lakes are moving down here into the greater Charlotte, NC area where I live. They have already turned NC from Republican into Democrat (Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, etc., though Wilmington and Asheville were always tuti fruiti liberal). The countryside is all firmly Republican except where the new housing developments are being built; Democrats are fleeing the Northeast or Great Lakes to congregate in those new developments as they commute to nearby cities, though the price of gasoline is putting a damper on that. They run from the consequences of what they voted for, then when they come here, they vote for the same darn thing all over again. They are incapable of learning. Brainless idiots. Personally, I wish they would go back to the failed states that their votes have created.

Compared to a lot of Southern States, the Democrat party has remained strong in North Carolina as demonstrated how few Republican governors there have been in the Tarheel State over the past 50 years.
