I voted once for a Democrat–she was running for a county office. I honestly thought she had earned the job, especially since she had the backing of about just everyone in the county except for the GOP machine (our area is/was heavily GOP). She had been GOP, but ran as a Democrat. She was overwhelmingly voted into office and has been there for maybe over 10 years. (She did irritate me on an issue, though, and I thought I might not vote for her again–can’t remember the issue).
.
This year she changed her affiliation back to GOP in order to run for a state office…and now has the backing of many local Democrats as she is now openly pro-choice. Her GOP opponent has pretty much everyone’s elses’ backing, except for the unions.
.
I can’t help but wonder if she will be voted in to a state office.
