It reminds me of a philosophy professor I had in my undergrad days. He once said that a woman who merely devotes her life to raising children could never be a complete person. I assume the above statement is a counter to such thinking.

So a guy who devoted himself to on small aspect, of one aspect, of what a mother does– a single aspect of teaching– claimed that someone who both handled all aspects of teaching, as well as all the other care that goes into a kid, was ‘merely’ doing something?
That’s besides all the stuff that goes into producing such children…..
