“Restorationism has come to gag the Council,” he said, before addressing the American Church in particular. “The number of groups of ‘restorers’ – for example, in the United States there are many – is significant.”
Francis mentioned an un-named Argentine bishop who told the Pope “he had been asked to administer a diocese that had fallen into the hands of these ‘restorers’,” saying that “they had never accepted the Council.”
Pope Francis critiqued the “ideas, behaviors” which came from the groups of “restorers,” advising the assembled Jesuits that the Council must be more heavily promoted in order to be accepted:
There are ideas, behaviors that arise from a restorationism that basically did not accept the Council. The problem is precisely this: in some contexts the Council has not yet been accepted. It is also true that it takes a century for a Council to take root. We still have forty years to make it take root, then!
Go here to read the rest. John Paul II and Pope Benedict understood that Vatican II was not the be all and the end all of the Church, that tolerance of traditional Catholics was good and that an attempt to freeze the life of the Church in 1965 was futile. Pope Francis is a Spirit of Vatican II fundamentalist with an intolerance for non-members of his cult. Nothing is more pathetic than a young radical as old and ailing man. As always we get the true Pope Francis from interviews, especially when he is talking to fellow Jesuits.

Give the old boy credit he’s going down swinging.
Evidently, Papa Foxtrot and his gaggle of handlers are nearly as dumb and ossified as Brandon and his.
Every time I read or hear what he’s spouting off about I have to go to Confession because of my horrible thoughts about him and all his effeminate winged monkeys. Off to Confession again.
Doesn’t this line of talk almost imply that the purpose of the Council was to foment revolution? I thought that a life of holiness was to restore our relationship with God that was lost in the Fall of Man. Adam and Eve really made a mess.
About 1500 years after God created His Holy Church, the Protestants decided to recreate their own. After our Vat II Council it appears that many in Rome took the same path.
I’m not looking for a lot out of life, and I know the dangers of complacency in spiritual matters, but I’m just looking for an attaboy from our religious leader, every once in a while. Like, call me salt. That carries a warning, but it’s not an insult. It recognizes that a lot of us are trying to accomplish something.
I must say with how hated Lardo is I am astonished he has not been iced. He is a repellent pig with no acknowledgement of truth. and certainly no knowledge of Sacred Scripture. One has to probe even deeper and look into why Divine Providence has allowed Satan so much leeway in destroying His church.
As was noted elsewhere, the Council was pastoral and NOT doctrinal.
Off to Confession again.
JMJ your comment made me laugh out loud. We all better sit outside the confessional till the next Pope comes round.
By the way Pope Francis approval rating in Argentina is free falling (article found through Spiritdaily blog):
Argentines who say they trust the Catholic Church are also in freefall: from 52 percent in 2017 to 31 percent today. The same goes for Pope Francis’s approval rating, which fell from 62 to 52 percent over the same period.
