It also means that all other cultures will be reduced to stick figures, shaped to fit the current prejudices of Western Leftist Elites, and used to belabor traditional Western Civilization. No one is more provincial than your average US contemporary Leftist. The world revolves around their cult as far as they are concerned and woe to them that challenge this prejudice.

Multiculturalism is having everyone in the world take part in the same bland, hollow, consumerism.
What it amounts to is a fairly pampered occupational subset trashing the generations who built the productive base and the institutions which pamper them. What we would benefit from doing is taking their toys away from them.
Watched an interview with Peter Kreeft, wherein he described chatting with fellow attendees at an educational conference. When asked what he taught, he replied “the Great Books”. The response was “Oh! You’re one of those people!”, to which Professor Kreeft replied “You object to Great Books? Would you prefer I taught stupid, crappy books?”
Unfortunately, there is a well-entrenched, vocal and dominant set in the educational establishment that would indeed prefer that stupid, crappy books be taught to the exclusion of all else. Because ‘diversity’ and ‘colonialism’ blah blah.

Higher education exists to provide employment for people who want to be professors. The rest are support staff and marks. Some of the faculty have a satisfactory vocation to impart knowledge about their specific discipline. The institution as a whole exists to please its tenured faculty, if not now than 15 years hence. Money given over to Great Books programs is money not given over to their departments and programs, and, in any case, Great Books is unfashionable. All influential parties in higher education are fashion conscious.
The corrective for this might be strong boards who continuously remind the faculty and administration that they are employees and the institution has a mission which transcends their sh!tty vanity, their political sectarianism, and their careerism. Alas, boards are useless nearly everywhere.
Yeah, and that explains why people from non-western nations are queuing in droves to immigrate to western nations. They’re queuing because they want to move to societies which are inferior to their own dumps. Ummm Not.
Where I’m from, I woke up after Covid and I feel like I’m living in. Mumbai or Shanghai. It’s probably similar to many other western nations post-Covid.
