About Time

If someone should not be denied Communion for supporting the child murder of abortion, I really can’t think of who should be denied Communion.  To paraphrase Lincoln, if abortion isn’t wrong nothing is wrong.  It is a mercy to deny the pro-aborts Communion before they die embracing this ghoulish sin.

One of the representatives of a man invented (heretical) religion condemns another representative of the same religion for her position on murder while he does not condemn nor refrain from presiding over a blasphemous rite that mocks the true Catholic religion and places man above God. The irony!

At her age, one would think a little more attention would be paid to what matters next.

At her age, one would think a little more attention would be paid to what matters next.

Her behavior over the last dozen years makes little sense to an ordinary person.

She’s married, her primary residence is on the west coast, she has five children and umpteen grandchildren, satisfactory retirement benefits after 20+ years as a handsomely compensated federal employee, her husband has an eight-digit net worth, and she presided over an electoral disaster in 2010. If the Democratic caucus were faintly normal, she’d have been sent to the back benches if she wasn’t willing t slink off herself, and have retired nine years ago. She is the oldest person ever to have held the speaker’s chair and her two deputies are immediate contemporaries. There have been three men who led the party caucuses in Congress longer than she has; all three were childless; one never married and another had one marriage which was annulled after just a few months.

Then you have the 88 year old Dianne Feinstein, shlepping from one coast to another for five months while her husband was dying of cancer. This was a recurrence of a cancer which had initially been diagnosed in 2016. SMDH

“About time” is putting it mildly, but yeah.

Meh. She won’t care. She’s a politician. She’ll spin the situation- undermine the importance of communion etc etc…

The reality check she will understand is being denied entry into the gates of Heaven. So agree very much with DL’s point about paying attention to what’s next:
* At her age, one would think a little more attention would be paid to what matters next.*

For some katholics the last Four Things are death, rebirth into a lizard or vulture, face timing with God, expensive ice cream.

This Archbishop is throwing the lunatic a life line.

I seriously doubt her humility will win over her hubris.

It’s up to us to pray that the former prevails.

Remember that the biggest reason to deny the Eucharist is not sin. Of course it is not meant to be taken when in a state of mortal sin, but that is not something that a priest can really judge (after all, maybe the person in question went to confession immediately before mass.) It is meant to prevent scandal.

When a public figure steadfastly does great sins in a public way and nevertheless presents himself as a good Catholic, it leads others into sin by convincing them to follow in the same sin. I am sure that there have people with greater sins than Pelosi who have received the Eucharist. I am not sure that anyone has ever led as many into scandal as Pelosi has with her acting as a spokeswoman for the death cult and then going to mass as if nothing was wrong.

It will be interesting to see which bishops publicly agree with His Excellency + Cordelione or even impose similar sanctions in their own dioceses, which bishops disagree with him— and which of +Cordelione’s fellow bishops pretend this never happened.

When Wm. Donohue was praising Donald Wuerl, my local parish priest told me the man was a crooked institutional politician. I think my local priest had the better of the argument.

I would not be surprised to see Wilton Cardinal Gregory personally and publicly give her communion tomorrow, assuming she’s in DC

i thought I read once that there were about 365 bishops and archbishops. In this day and age when Satan is transparently running freely and creating evil havoc in and out of God’s church, never before have so many been so silent. Two words seem to be totally missing from any reference to that body of supposed church leaders–martyrdom and zeal.
