Let me guess: pedophilia is ok for everyone except Catholic priests. And all Catholic priests are evil pedophilias who must be eradicated. But if a pedophile is a Muslim or a communist, then we have to understand and accept (even celebrate) the pedophile’s life situation.

I am being 100% serious in saying that the only reason that mainstream media hasn’t done a full court press for acceptance of pedophiles is that they need pedophilia to be rejected to have a cudgel to beat the Church with.

A hypothesis:
The social work and mental health trade’s interests here are in equipoise and have been for some time. The promotion of homosexuality served the object of undermining traditional and conventional sexual mores and sensibilities, as did the promotion of non-marital sex, contraception, delayed marriage, intra-marital sodomy, masturbation, &c. The normalization of paedophilia (and there were tentative moves toward that end in the 1970s) carried a number of risks which outweighed the marginal benefit to be had from further undermining conventional sexual mores. For one thing, it cuts into business. For another, the spectre of paedophilia has been a useful tool to deploy contra clergymen and contra male family members (fathers in particular).
