Given what’s been going on in the world, I can certainly see the Latin Mass as the big problem. Geeesh. I don’t think SNL could do it better.

I find it amusing that Cdl. Mueller is referred to as one of the “ultra-conservative” and “traditionalist” cardinals in the piece. Overton windows, I suppose. I’d imagine he’d find it amusing, or at least surprising, as well.
“It’s not possible to render worship to God and at the same time make a battleground of liturgy for questions that aren’t essential…” I guess the obvious question if that if these are truly non-essential questions, then why was Benedict’s mostly successful ceasefire called off by his successor, who seems to be the main aggressor?

In First Corinthians St. Paul had to give the Corinthians correction to keep the faith pure in the face of pagan idol worship. One issue being meat offered to idols, among other matters of pagan worship practices. 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 is particularly interesting.
