PopeWatch: Thoughts and Prayers

The Russian and Ukrainian ambassadors to the Holy See were present for the consecration of their nations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Russian Ambassador:  Looking at his watch.  Thinking:  I wonder how long this Catholic business will take?  So tired.  Too much stress and work.  Past 75 and I have to deal with this.  Never thought Putin would be so foolish.

Ukrainian Ambassador:  Thinking:  Please God keep my children safe.  What if some huge miracle occurred and the Russian army simply vanished?  Such a miracle lets us all off too easy.  I see the Russian Ambassador standing there.  Fiend!  Not a fiend, merely a diplomat like me.  Still hate him and all Russians.

Russian Ambassador: Thinking: The Ukrainian Ambassador is staring at me.  None of this is my fault!

Ukrainian Ambassador:  Thinking:  So he thinks he can out stare me!  Wait am I a child?  A staring contest will settle nothing.  Dignity is the least I can offer to my poor nation.

Russian Ambassador: Thinking:   So no staring contest.  Poor man, I hope his family is safe.

Ukrainian Ambassador :  Thinking:  Will any of this do any good for my Ukraine?  Why has this terrible thing happened to my nation?

Russian Ambassador:  Thinking:  I have heard the Ukrainian ambassador is a religious man.  I am not.  But I recall that Papa wore the cross around his neck all during the Great Patriotic War that Babushka gave him when he went off to War.  He never said much about it and he didn’t attend religious services after the War, but he kept that cross around his neck, and he was buried with it.

Ukrainian Ambassador:  Praying:  Blessed Mother, save Ukraine!

Russian Ambassador:  Thinking:  Stalin asked how many divisions the Pope has.  Stalin dead 69 years.  The Soviet Union dead as he is and his successor Putin is turning living men into corpses to raise it from the dead.  Madness!

Ukrainian Ambassador and Russian Ambassador:  Praying:  God give us peace!

Question: of the consecration was done properly, when will we see the proof of it? I’ve always heard we would see proof within days, even hours when it took place. Can somebody enlighten me?

Thank you. That the Ukrainians have held off the Russians this long is a miracle. I am inclined to be believe there have been many miracles through the Blessed Virgin’s intercession..

Stephan, I believe that as in all things any proof will be shown to us according to God’s timing and the manner of an acceptable conversion of Russia will be determined by God and Our Lady.
