I object to the notion that all leftists who fabricate and repeat these absurd euphemisms do so just because they’re stupid. Sure, many leftists are stupid. But there are many who aren’t, and they know they have to cloak their evil with twisted language— “uterine contents”, “fortified election”, “mostly peaceful protests”, “intergenerational love”, “equity”, “women’s health care”— because if they were straightforward, the overwhelming majority of people would react with either derision or disgust, maybe both.
No, while it’s tempting to think these people are idiots because they say these idiotic things, I think it shows that many of them are cunning because they know their evil requires concealment.
No, while it’s tempting to think these people are idiots because they say these idiotic things, I think it shows that many of them are cunning because they know their evil requires concealment.
But it doesn’t conceal anything. Virtually everyone reading it knows that this is being done because of Leftists bowing down to their new god Transgenderism.
But as Clinton said above, it is euphemistic language like “uterine contents” that hide reality. I’m fact the word “abortion” is a euphemism itself.
Were people that cannot understand normal thinking also more adversely affected by CCP pneumonia?
Don’t tell Fauxi! More people under 65 years old died of alcohol than of the CCP virus in first year of the panic.
And, at this point, the euphemisms conceal absolutely nothing in reference to abortion.
“In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is…in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”- Theodore Dalrymple
I let my subscription to Forbes magazine lapse when it became clear that they were no long much concerned with business and more with social wokeness.
