Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
I suppose I do not have the same visceral feelings as many about PF because I take a longer look at the institution. We have had two thousand years of Pontiffs and they have ranged from best to worst. Although PF could not be classified as ideal, he is far from the worst. Remember always: This too shall pass.

It’s hard to love.
Sacrifices are made to love one that is not meeting your or your families expectations. It’s difficult but it’s a command. Prayers open the door to love. Contemplation then action.
I’m grateful for many things but at the very top of my list is my gratitude that God is my judge. He knows the heart better than anyone.
God help Pope Francis to do God’s will, today, tomorrow and forever.
Insert your name;__________to do God’s will today, tomorrow and forever.
Peace everyone.
And keep oil in your lamps.
No telling when the bridegroom cometh.

That lightening strike, unacknowledged by the incoming humans, foretold the past nine years for those of faith. It may have had its effect on the wondering. Certainly, the leopards spots became clear over these nine years.

Although PF could not be classified as ideal, he is far from the worst.
If he were just indulging in gourmet food and banging the housekeeping staff at the Vatican but was otherwise silent, he’d be doing less damage than he’s doing. If you add to that allocating bishoprics as patronage plums to local grandees, he might still not be as damaging as he’s been. I think James Hitchcock has written that you need to cycle back to the 9th century to find analogues of some of his transgressions.
Praying for lightening strikes over the Kremlin every night until cease fire or peace. Would that be courtesy of St Michael?

Negligence in the extreme. Malfeasance is understating this pontificate.

I am very familiar with papal history and I consider this Bergoglio to be without question the worst pope in history – for his sins are intellectual sins. I hope he dies soon.

I have to disagree. While we’ve had terrible popes in the past, for the most part the focus of their evil has been on personal corruption and powermongering, and neglect of their theological duties.
Francis, on the other hand? The focus of his evil has been in the area of his theological duties, and he’s been doing it deliberately.

“Francis” is an antipope and heretic. Benedict XVI can claim the “worst pope” title without challenge. He left the Church in an ugly mess. God help us. Large-scale fasting and prayer may mitigate some of the damage.

Thank you PN for saying what I’ve been thinking.
Your welcome Bob Kurland.
