True words.
God Bless Bishop Sheen.
I met him with my Mother, Grandmother, and brothers one evening in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. I got to kiss his ring. It was over 60 years ago and I remember it. Mom and Nana were overawed by the saintly man.
A little prayer I could say a million times a day, “Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. Amen.”
*I met him with my Mother, *
You’re very fortunate and blessed, T Shaw. I can imagine being in the presence of such a Holy and wise man would have left a lifelong impression.
I agree with Ezabelle, T Shaw.
He was one of the best modern age ambassadors for Christ. I still am in awe of his teachings. His wit, too, is exceptional and his charismatic delivery is second to none, imho.
God love you.
Thank you, Ezabelle and Philip. Sad to say, I’ve fallen and picked myself too up many tines.
I was also one of the least of the De La Salle Christian Brothers’ boys.
People Like Fulton J. Sheen [he told my mother and Nana his mother called him John.], my Mother and my Nana don’t die. They live on in our hearts and souls. Canonizing him would be a formality.
Live Jesus in our hearts. Forever.
“Canonizing him would be a formality.”
He would be the first to disagree with you, but in this case I have a hard time disagreeing with you. He IS a wonder worker if only for his archives.
What would he say to Catholic Joe Biden if he had a chance? I wonder.
I doubt that he would be quippy.
I imagine that he would say; BY GOD MAN. YOUR LEADERSHIP IS GAINING SOULS FOR LUCIFER. REPENT. REPENT. REPENT… but, as i said, i wonder.
One last thing. Note to Joe’s priest.
Being more pastorial than Jesus isn’t a quality. It’s a sin;
