I started my Lenten penance early by watching it. It met my low expectations but the real kicker was when he praised Roe v Wade, LGBTQ, transgenderism and the Equality Act… That actually sent me into a shout at the screen rage. I actually worry now that he’s calling down judgement on us and there’s no use praying for mercy any longer, only for endurance to get through whatsver horrors and hardships are coming. Didnt Mother Teresa once say that the fruit of abortion would be nuclear war? (I’m really being Little Miss Sunshine today, eh?)
Elaine, I can’t argue with your outlook. That is not to say I believe there is no basis for hope, because of course we always have that (as defined traditionally by the Church). But when this country is THAT close, within a handful of votes in the “world’s greatest deliberative body”, of endorsing and even encouraging violation of nearly every Commandment of God that hasn’t already been legally trashed by this Satanic culture of ours, it’s hard to see a way back to a moral culture absent overt Divine intervention.

Yep. While we’re at it, the President should quit traveling abroad. Harry Truman took three foreign trips in just shy of eight years: a courtesy visit to Canada, a courtesy visit to Mexico, and the Potsdam Conference. He could have cut it to one trip. (Note also that Barack Obama devoted a great deal of time to fundraisers and gassy speeches, little time to discussions and negotiations with members of Congress; the presidency in our time is cut to fit the hollow man).
FYI – MSM in Australia edited a very favourable version of the State of the a union address from Biden on the nightly news. Portraying him as being hard on Russia re: Ukraine- seizing the assets of the Oligarch, the no fly zone over Ukraine. (Yes all good things for Ukraine).
So my oldest daughter didn’t believe me when I said Biden said this during his address:
“Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he will never gain the hearts of the Iranian people”.
