At least the Captain of the S.S. Titanic was sleeping at the time it crashed. It appears the captain of the S.S. Vatican is wide awake and aware of its collision course. That smoke of Satan Paul VI spoke of has apparently entered the wheelhouse.

The traditional breviary for the vigil of the Epiphany has this reading—I couldn’t help but apply to the present oppressive circumstances by the Ruler of the Church: “Defuncto Herode, ecce Angelus Domini apparuit Joseph in Aegypto, dickens: Surge, et accipe et matrem ejus et vade in terram Israel.” (Mt. 2:19-20).

When Herod died, all his plans for persecution died with him, and Joseph returned with the Holy Family.
