Note, Jonathan Turley is 60 years old and landed his first faculty appointment in 1987. It’s a reasonable wager his viewpoint on legal questions and more general matters of political dispute were quite unremarkable among law professors in 1987. He is vitriolically denounced by the partisan Democrats in his comboxes on a daily basis. This is where we are today.
Mencken’s “hoist the black flag” comment seems more realistic every day. I wonder how much longer it will be before we actually start killing each other again. And I hope I’m not around to see it.
