My own Mother is still a Canadian citizen, although she’s been living here in the US for decades after marrying Dad and raising four children. As a Resident Alien, she’s dutifully gone to the post office every year and filled out the forms our government requires.
Now why should Mom continue to respect the immigration laws when our own government ignores and obstructs their enforcement and rewards those who flout them?
It’s as though this administration wants to foster contempt for the law…
Its probably the way the left attempts to secure future voters for the left. It’s part of the reason left leaning governments love immigration- legitimate or otherwise.
