The only hope for this prosecution was to avoid the hard facts that the men shot by Rittenhouse were participants in a violent riot and Rittenhouse acted in self defense. The Judge refused to play along and the Left is having a melt down. Rittenhouse presents a clear case of self defense from a violent mob and the Judge is not going to allow the prosecution to attempt to take the shootings out of context and to pretend that the facts surrounding them may be ignored.

That Rittenhouse was prosecuted at all is a scandal. I’ve long harbored a suspicion that many prosecutors are sociopaths.
Given that a police officer in Minneapolis was sentenced to 22 years in prison for being present when a man expired from a self-administered dose of fentanyl, I have no faith in blue city juries. I’ll light a candle for Rittenhouse today.
Also don’t let it be forgotten the criminal histories of the shot rioters. Rosenbaum was a multiple times convicted pedophile of underage boys. Huber had multiple domestic violence records. Grosskreutz (the only one injured by Kyle) has only misdemeanors and was wielding a gun that night.

I hope facts matter in this case, but I am not as optimistic that they will as some seem to be. Juries can turn out to be legal “lynch mobs” enforcing leftist political correctness. Consider a Trump supporter being tried in Washington, D.C. Does anyone think facts actually matter? The fact that this kid is being charged at all is a disgrace. I hope I am wrong and this kid is promptly acquitted.
I am quite familiar with Kenosha. My mother-in-law lives up there. My bride and I have been going up there annually since 1982. It is a very blue collar town with a lot of hunters and veterans. The jury pool should be favorable to a self defense claim and Rittenhouse’s attorneys know their business, judging from what has occurred up to this point.

That’s great. Let’s hope they don’t structure the voir dire a la Peter Cahill, so every impartial candidate for the jury is struck.
The Judge strikes me as fair and the defense attorneys are able. The prosecution will have a hard row to hoe on jury selection.
If I was as good as brave, young Mr. Rittenhouse, I’d have taken three ears. I’d be wearing them around my neck in the courtroom.
