PopeWatch: Calvinball

Our Pope is quite the joker:

“Sometimes we too, instead of being humble and open communities, can give the impression that we are ‘at the top of the class’ and keep others at a distance; instead of trying to walk with everyone, we can show our ‘believers’ licence.”

“We ask for the grace to overcome the temptation to judge and catalogue, and that God preserve us from the mentality of the ‘nest’, that of guarding ourselves jealously in the small group of those who consider themselves good: the priest with his faithful, the pastoral workers closed among of them so that no one infiltrates, the movements and associations in their own particular charism, and so on. Closed. All this risks making Christian communities places of separation and not of communion.”

The Holy Spirit wants open, welcoming communities where there is room for everyone, the Pope said.

Go here to read the rest.  No doubt after saying this he resumed his plans for reducing the permission of Catholics to hear the traditional Mass and/or implementing further efforts against traditionalist orders.  For our Pope the game is ever the same: Calvinball.

A thorough examination of conscience for all.

Pope too.

I happen to belong to one of the most dynamic and growing parishes in our diocese. We are one of two parishes that offer TLM.
Our Bishop has given us the ok to continue. We also have perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. Not by happenstance do we also have the majority of new recruits of religious prospects entering into religious formation. This, mind you, from a small farm community.

If we were as pretentious or inclusive as himself declared then I don’t believe we would be having the graces to build up the body of Christ.

One question for the Pope?

How’s your efforts going in vocation development?

I don’t suppose the ever emptying pews are any indicator of this post Vat II madness he is accelerating? After listening to his constant hyper-criticism, I have to wonder, what kind of a shepherd is it that so belittles his faithful flock?

To answer your rhetorical question…

He’s not the kind who stands UP against a communist regime, as St. Pope JP II did in occupied Poland.
He’s the kind who cut’s deals with Communist regimes and doesn’t give the local Cardinal time when that Cardinal is in Rome…..

By their fruits indeed.

Vocations are near zero and seminaries are closing throughout Western Europe. The official explanation is the cratering birth rate, https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/246008/cardinal-laments-lack-of-priestly-vocations-in-florentine-archdiocese, which certainly plays a role, as larger families tend to generate vocations more often than smaller ones. However, the general failure of catechesis and thus the decline in actual belief in the Church and her teachings cannot be denied, IMO, as a major factor, if not the primary one.
And why would a young man who burns with true faith want to submit himself to the lavender club that occupies most seminaries in the West today, by many accounts, especially when the pope surrounds himself, and fills numerous high-ranking posts in the Church, with obvious or overt homosexuals and homosexualists? Not to mention the discouragement caused by a pope who constantly berates the most faithful Catholics, preaches almost daily on secular political issues clothed in phony Church-speak or Jesuit word salad, and avers that Hell is empty, there is no difference among religions, and that public supporters of unlimited abortion are great and wise people? The occasional strategic mouthing of actual Catholic orthodoxy means little or nothing in the face of his behavior, except to give the Popesplainers more ammo to use against those who question the flow of heterodoxy, at least, coming regularly from Rome.

Frank, all rounds of your rat/tat/tat rant are on target.

Frank.

Attrition.

That is why these fine young men must be encouraged to accept God’s call.
The attrition rate will take care of the Lavender associates. As far as new members go, we hope and pray a deep cleansing is applied to scrub out the individuals who care not for conversion. but would rather extend the homosexual agenda.

Now more than ever good, pure men need to enter into the high calling of the priesthood.

God will provide.
We must encourage and support these men.

Thank you, David WS and Philip!
There are indeed still good men coming out of some of the seminaries, and we’ve been blessed to have met several and had them as priests and confessors. I will always encourage vocations if I have the chance. But I will be pleasantly surprised when a young man accepts the call given the present circumstances. 😉
Perhaps it has always been the same challenge.

Perhaps.
A battle is taking place. These young men are in the front lines. It’s as if they are young Karol W. The Nazi’s were in his backyard, figuratively, and for some men today they too see evils abound.

My wishful thinking is that they want to make a difference and are open to the Call. This IS THE TIME.
Julie and Neil are superb parents and friends at Church. They have two sons preparing to take the leap of Faith to commit everything, their whole lives, to play an important role in the advancement of The Sacred Heart and His Kingdom. These boys are brilliant and serious. Kinda like Raymond Kolbe became after his vision of Mary with the two crowns. Serious and determined. I see that in them.

As the country implodes with all of the might that Satan has to throw at it, good strong serious men will rise to the occasion. Why?
Because God wills it!

And we know the final outcome.
