I think the designers are having a laugh at the expense of the celebrities. This one lady came dressed as a horse, another was a head-to-toe black shadow, another as a Liberace Pope then he changed into a gold robot then into a sequin disco ball, David Bowie’s wife wore a gold-dipped silky chook outfit which was static powered, and there was also Darth Vader in shorts, another man dressed as shrek holding baby shrek, a lady wearing a gown carrying king-Arthur’s sword and one guy had his grandmothers patchwork quilt draped around him. And they all are wearing these things posing with straight faces. It would have made the whole thing funnier if someone wrote “kick me” on the back of AOC in red Crayola or something like that…
She isn’t wealthy. However, she should have known better than to accept a ticket to the gala, which by some accounts has a price of $30,000 (it hasn’t been said if that’s the box office price or the scalper’s price) . Laws don’t apply to Democratic pols unless they do something fairly crude like have a chest freezer full of bribe money in their basement. This is crude. I’m wagering that she’ll be slapped with fines ‘ere long.
And she shouldn’t be the first against the wall. She’s an ass-clown wasting her life (and innocent of any skill for which a commercial employer would pay).
