Lt. Colonel Stuart Scheller has already been relieved of his battalion command He has thrown his career away for us and his fellow Marines. If Trump wins in 2024 he will not have to look far for a Commandant of the Corps. In the next world Colonel, Chesty Puller is saluting you.
Bravo Zulu, Lt. Col Scheller! What’s hard to find online is Lt. Col. Scheller’s comments after he was relieved. He’s very upbeat about his future post USMC despite sacrificing retirement income. We will see more of him, but only after he has resigned. He made it clear that he will not accept interviews while on active duty.
Wow. But, if others won’t support him publicly and openly and speak out like he has and risk loosing it all like he has, then what’s the point? The fact this good man had to throw away his future for speaking the blatant obvious is insane. It’s completely unfair and unacceptable. It shouldn’t be accepted.
Which asks the question, with the risk of sounding naive – these soldiers are employed by the government to serve their nation. So how can it be justified that they fend for themselves like lambs in a slaughter house because the same government which put them there is now deciding to withdraw..? Surely there is a duty of care by the government towards these soldiers who are their employees…?! And surely, the fact the government has broken their end of these employment conditions, there is at least a serious legal ramification for the governments conduct. As in a class action. Not only for the current stranded soldiers but all the ones who have served over the past 20 years. And not only for the US but for the allies (including our comparatively small but fierce Australian contingent- we went in to fight with our US allies- ask the dead Australian soldiers parent who are also crying that their son died for nothing!). The “leaders” need to be humiliated for humiliating the good fighters of this war. Other wise history will repeat. One lone soldier is not enough nor should it be acceptable he takes a hit for speaking the truth.
SecDef, CJCS, SecState and, yes, the CIC all need to be held accountable. If each of them had the slightest sense of honor for the dead soldiers and Marines over the last two decades, these men would resign. Impeachment / courts Marshall is next.
