I imagine there’s a certain amount of leaking going on as different institutional factions try to salvage their reputations. The latest is that the military brass tried to persuade Biden and his handlers to adopt a different plan of withdrawal and he wouldn’t hear of it.
Don’t buy that, esp in Austin n Milleys cases.
The Yes Minister comment comes to mind: “If you’re going to do this damn silly thing, don’t do it in this damn silly way!”
None of you should be surprised by this.
I remember when some Truman admin State Dept. guy told the World that the US would draw the line at Japan. Then, Stalin invaded South Korea. That was awesome!
At least since FDR (except for winning WWII and dying before he could to give Stalin the World), everything the Dems and globalist RINOs [both Bushes] touched turned into detritus every foreign and domestic thing they touched.
Only, having a D behind your name means never having to say you’re sorry.
I cannot see how they could have done this duck and run more stupid or more tragic for our Afghan allies.

Remember the controversy ca. 1981 over gifts that Ronald Reagan’s national security adviser had intercepted from Japanese officials, dumped in his office safe, and then forgotten about? It was enough to induce a months-long internal investigation and concluded with his departure at the beginning of 1982. His six-year-old daughter was accosted by reporters during a stake-out of his home.
More than anything else, these folks need conversion to Christ. Alas, “Christians” tend to do idiot things and these folks are not at all sympathetic to that; in fact, they find it a major turn off. Actually, I am reasonably certain most folks would find it a significant road block to conversion.
Having bamboo shoots stuck under my fingernails would be preferable to having to watch General Milley make any any public commentary. 🤬🤬🤪🤪🤬🤬
