A military, the most expensive military in the world, that can’t win wars is merely an absurdity. The Afghan President has fled and our ambassador has fled, and not a single general will have the sense of honor to resign over this debacle. May they perform as effectively if the Puppetmasters’ Administration decides that Civil War II would be a grand idea.
Maybe we should have gotten the message long ago before we foolishly went in, after Russia pulled out of Afghanistan as unwinnable? That’s two times we were schooled on not going to war somewhere, and failed anyway–the other when France told us not to go into Vietnam.

Biden won’t take questions since he is at Camp David for a “presidential brief.” Psaki is “out of the office” for the next week. CNN says that we’ll get word on this “in the next few days.”
With the clown world we live in it’s impossible to say if this is just everyone embarrassed about how badly they messed up the withdrawal, or if it’s something else on top of that (next up, President Harris?)

Point of contention, we did not lose Vietnam. Congress lost it after we had victory complete and a signed document in hand. They refused to provide the weapon support we had promised the Vietnamese government and so that government was overrun when we pulled out.
I would actually still place Vietnam as worse than AFG, barely, simply because it was prosecuted correctly until that point. AFG was never prosecuted correctly. I would also point out that it was a Democrat Congress which refused to uphold our end of the bargain in Vietnam (and arguably in AFG during Obama, with Trump simply not making things any better).
Though we did make a bigger mistake in AFG in that we kept telling people we were going to pull out. Never tell the enemy you are going to leave…
