Reasonable people can differ about the vaccine, and that is precisely the point. That and this:

Which reminds me of an old news pic of a large union crowd all voting for Jimmy Hoffa…except for one lone black man. To this day–he’s my hero.
Such grand behavior from all of us would have stopped PC politics in its embryonic stage.

“Extermination machine unmasked: Why vaccinated people are making healthy people sick
The vaccine is the bioweapon. Specifically, the spike protein is the bioactive weapon, and it is designed to spread from person to person, being transmissible from the vaccinated in order to infect the unvaccinated.
People who are injected with the mRNA vaccine are having their bodies turned into bioweapons factories, churning out spike protein particles which they shed through their mouths and skin, infecting everyone around them. The spike protein is biologically active and causes blood clots, leading to strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary embolism, and infertility effects.
We’ve finally figured out the exact mechanism of how this vaccine is designed to achieve global extermination. It’s called a “self-replicating vaccine” because the vaccine spreads like a virus and infects everyone.

Vaccine or not?
It’s an individual’s choice.
A Personal Risk Assessment.
Don’t be swayed by either group.
Strange theories out there.
A golf professional I know told me yesterday that those that are vaccinated have three years at best to live. I laughed, thinking he was just playing games, but he was serious. He is believing a story that a woman is peddling in the UK about a massive extermination exercise going on around the globe.
Too much time on his hands. He should be better once it warms up and lessons become his focus.
I’m reminded of this saying from a dentist friend that passed away years ago;
” Believe 1/2 of what you read and less of what you hear. “
Although it is over 50 years old, The Prisoner is more relevant than ever.
“People say believe half of what you see
Son, and none of what you hear
But I can’t help being confused
If it’s true please tell me dear…”

I just don’t understand the vaccine. What does it do, what doesn’t it do, how long does it do it, and what next. Since my son can’t take it right now, and we’re leery about my Mom taking it in her advanced years, we’re holding off for the time being. I get why people would take it, and I can respect that. But like most things in Covid, something doesn’t seem right, beyond the always disastrously inconstant messaging. It doesn’t take conspiracy theories to notice that.
There comes a point where the cost-benefit assessment is such that if you’re sensible you do not bother. Not sure whether that’s age 25 or age 45, but somewhere in there. In re hands-on medical sector workers who could be vectors, the calculus is different.

Not really, unless you find kooks amusing.
we’re leery about my Mom taking it in her advanced years
It’s people of advanced years which benefit from it.

Unfortunately, the mother-in-law of someone at our last church (a doctor no less) had to be rushed to the ER after the vaccine she received. It was touch and go for a few. Officially it wasn’t related to the vaccine she got before it happened, but I’m skeptical. I’ve seen that before. We reason that my Mom would never survive what she went through (his mother in law is a bit younger than my mom) and, while my mom is in good health for her age, that’s still for her age.
There’s also issues with women of reproductive age, where the vaccine triggers mensuration. Not 100%, but at least on par with peppermint oil.
And there are reports of being exposed to vaccinated people doing the same.
….for that matter, I’m dealing with what LOOKED like very early onset “change,” but would also align with “exposure to mRNA vaccinated people triggers female cycle.” Scared me half to death, since one of the things that presents the same way is fallopian pregnancy, AKA, thing that can and will kill you and is more common post c-section.
…which is really bad, if you’re preggers.
(Note: don’t get me started on the suddenly appearing claim that cycling after a vaccination is normal, or that stress causes one week post cycle cycling. It does nothing to deal with Lady Problem doctors suddenly having a huge influx of very scared women, when they’ve literally never had this before.)
It’s people of advanced years which benefit from it.
Depends entirely on what the death-mechanism for COVID is; if it hits those without immunity, then the vaccine would be useful. If it’s killing those whose immune system IS NOT FUNCTIONING, then the vaccine does nothing– because vaccines only work by guiding the immune system.
This would match the evidence of the sizable number of folks who were infected and died, post vaccination.
We reason that my Mom would never survive what she went through (his mother in law is a bit younger than my mom) and, while my mom is in good health for her age, that’s still for her age.
The majority of the population over 65 has now received the vaccine. If you’re assessing probabilites, that’s a very large denominator.
….what’s the death rate for those who are over 65 and were hospitalized?
(Which we know is over half of those infected.)
Notice how everyone talks about “the vaccine” even though there are four of them divided produced by different companies and divided between two very different approaches (to the point that it isn’t clear whether the mRNA treatments can properly be considered “vaccines” at all).
The next step is then often to conflate these vaccines with vaccines generally, for example saying that they must be perfectly safe since previous vaccines were. But this is of course an invalid comparison since these shots didn’t go through the same procedures and still have not been properly authorized by the FDA. Beyond that the CDC’s number show a dramatic increase in reports of vaccine related deaths (more in the last six months than the ten years before that), and the long term effects cannot be known.
Does that mean that the vaccines are extremely dangerous? Not necessarily. While it is clear that they are less safe than previous vaccines, most vaccines are so safe that that doesn’t necessarily mean a large total risk. But it does raise serious concerns relating to long term effects, which cannot be known at this point, as well as the effects on pregnant women and children (who were not included in the initial testing).
Personally though the decision is easy. I recovered from COVID-19 so getting vaccinated is pointless. The only arguments I’ve had people give me for why natural immunity isn’t sufficient (ex. it might not last forever and it might not apply to variants) apply equally to the various vaccines. And of course on top of that the people pushing for the vaccine are also pushing for following the exact same precautions before and after the vaccine, so there’s no personal benefit there either.
The majority of the population over 65 has now received the vaccine.
I find stats having little to do with Covid right now. We know several people who had a wide variety of reactions, including two who were badly sickened. Now, technically none of that had to do with their vaccines. For that matter, the woman who was rushed to the ER also wasn’t because of the vaccine. Cosmic coincidence apparently. So we officially know nobody who has had a bad reaction to the vaccines. Just a few people in our relatively small circles who have suddenly developed very bad sicknesses and physical shut downs right at the time they received the unrelated vaccines. Just like my son suddenly developed a potentially fatal food allergy right after receiving an unrelated vaccination when he started college. Nonetheless, not being a gambling man, and seeing some lack of consistency in the general Covid messaging, we’re not ready at this time to chance my mom having a bad reaction, even if it officially isn’t related to a vaccine she might get.
I find stats having little to do with Covid right now.
You mean probability doesn’t interest you. Which is antecedent to making less than optimal decisions. Please yourself.
Statistics, like all other sorts of analysis, is GIGO but statisticians often forget this (or worse, pretend that sophisticated enough statistical methods can make gold out of garbage).
Which is antecedent to making less than optimal decisions. Please yourself.
With numbers I’m sure that’s true. But we have to consider many things, including the sources and the people involved, which is why we’re skittish at this point. Should things change, we’ll certainly reconsider. Right now, we’re holding off.
Before watching this Podcast I must admit I was somewhat on the fence about taking the vaccine. It’s a pretty technical podcast between a virologist and a evolutionary biologist that (I think) is saying 1. If you were to design an experiment to create a “super virus” you would do it just like the current vaccine protocol and force variants while the pandemic was still going and taking the mRNA vaccine prevents the body from being able to defend itself from those variants. Podcasters note if it was a “traditional” vaccine they would be in line to get it no question. But the closer you look at the mRNA ones the more you realize how dangerous the current vaccine protocol is.
A must watch if you are thinking about not getting the vaccine
It explains in scientific detail why not getting it is actually advisable….

Biden opening (and encouraging) COVID 19 vaccinations for children 12 to 16 years of age. Then infants as young as 6 months and on up in age according to Dr. Fauci. Unbelieveable! This is child abuse. And goes against scientific fact.
No woman of child bearing age should be vaccinated according to a large group of doctors because the vaxx is experimental. I remember Thalidomide birth defects.
When you consider the vanishingly small death rates from COVID among children with the low testing of the vaccines on children, and it’s almost certain that more children will get killed by vaccines than COVID.
and it’s almost certain that more children will get killed by vaccines than COVID.
I think you need to run the numbers before you say things like that. Still, for people under a certain age, this really is unnecessary unless they’re potentially vectors.
According to the CDC data, as of February there have been 127 deaths in the 1-16 year age range. According to the CDC VAERS there have been 1,078 deaths associated with COVID-19 vaccines in March 2021 alone. (Necessary disclaimer that this doesn’t prove causation, etc. But for comparison at no point in the data does any other vaccine exceed 20 associated deaths in a month). The total reported deaths are 2,848. Around 100 million Americans have given some form of COVID-19 vaccine, leading to around a .003% death rate.
According to the 2019 census, there are over 60 million children in the 1-16 age range. Taking .003% of that and we get about 1,800 deaths.
The calculations are rough certainly, but keep in mind that the errors can go in both ways. For example, it could be that the vaccines are safer than the VAERS reports suggest, but it could also be that they are more dangerous for children since they have not had much testing there. (If they are insane enough to try to vaccinate babies I expect the death rates to be much higher there.) Also keep in mind that these are experimental vaccines whose long term effects are completely unknown at this point which is particularly punishing towards children.
According to the 2019 census, there are over 60 million children in the 1-16 age range. Taking .003% of that and we get about 1,800 deaths.
I have no clue why you’d assume the mortality rate would be the same in every age group.
In absence of information about whether a rate will be the same or different we usually model things with the assumption it will be the same, since it is a known starting point and we do not have information about whether it should be higher or lower.
But I suspect if it is different for children it will likely be higher, since the vaccines were not designed with children in mind, and since the vaccines (especially the mRNA versions) are known to cause intense reactions that a small child’s immune system would be less likely to handle. So you can increase the deaths to over 2 thousand if you want.
But regardless of the exact numbers the fact remains that we are talking about vaccines which are still experimental, which were not designed to be used for children, and which are meant for a disease that children have almost no chance of dying from. The fact that we are even arguing about this as if it needs to be proven why children shouldn’t get the vaccine, rather than why they should, is indicative of the insanity of the modern world.
