Where are the parishioners who attend this Parish? Are they not standing up for their Priest?!
Did any diocese do something creative, like hold ordinary masses for parishioners under 50 and bi-weekly outdoor masses for parishioners over 50, asking parishioners in that age range to sign up for group A or group B and limiting the dispensation from weekly attendance to that age range? We knew by April of 2020 who was vulnerable to this ailment, so there was little excuse for broadbrush rules applicable to the population under 50. By the middle of the year, a comparative assessment of mortality in Europe, the northern United States, and the Southern United States strongly suggested (if it did not prove) that this virus is seldom spread through outdoor air or by touching surfaces. You get it by breathing climate controlled indoor air. Why did none of our bishops implement creative solutions and then double-dog dare Gretchen Whitmer to send in state troopers?
How many times has this bishop, or any bishop, commenced canonical proceedings against any of the legion of priests who blatantly contradict the church’s doctrines, trash her liturgical rules and abuse parishioners who charitably ask them to stop? Never as far as I’m aware.
