PopeWatch: Karens

The Karens in the media are attacking the Pope’s Iraq visit:

— Pope Francis said Monday he weighed the risks of a high-profile trip to Iraq during the coronavirus pandemic, but said he decided to go ahead with it after much prayer and belief that God would look out for the Iraqis who might get exposed.

Francis described his decision-making process en route home from Iraq amid concerns that his four-day visit, which featured oftentimes maskless crowds in packed churches, singing — could result in the spread of infections in a country with a fragile health care system and a sustained surge in new cases.

Go here to read the rest.  Of course the Pope has been at the forefront of demanding the most severe restrictions in regard to the Black Sniffles and has been notably unsympathetic to people protesting against these measures.  But it is different when it is him and something he needs to be done.  The Pope of course is exercising his freedom to make the decisions he thinks are right and proper in regard to the Iraq trip.  Would that he had the same respect for people fighting to make their own decisions in regard to Covid.

One of my beefs with Pope Francis is that he almost wears a ‘do as I say, not as I do’ approach to his papacy like a badge of honor. Usually that’s not a good way for leaders to act. Yet he seems to relish in it.

Would that he had the same respect for the one, true God.

Would that he had the same fervor for spreading the Gospel message that Jesus Christ is God With Us, the Word become flesh, begotten of the Father outside of time, who alone can save us from our sins and lead all People, no matter who or where, to eternal life in heaven – which is Beatitude with the Holy Trinity.

There is no other God than our God. Even Covid bows down before Him. Would that this message was delivered to the lost Muslim and Jewish souls in this desolate, historic land.
