And You Thought You Were Living in a Free Country

Presumably the Feds now will be charging the above Clinton supporter.  If the Feds are now going to be criminalizing lies, including transparently humorous lies, in regard to elections they are going to be kept very busy indeed.  The First Amendment implications of this are dire.  Go here to read about the prosecution.  If this prosecution succeeds the Bill of Rights is so much old paper.

Someone in the FBI and someone in the US Attorney’s office is responsible for this travesty. Say their names. No one who pulls a stunt like this should be collecting a government salary. NB, this is in regard to satirical memes he posted more than four years ago. The notion that this isn’t political harassment cannot be taken seriously.

Note, there are woke-tards at Twitter who have been itching to deplatform the Babylon Bee and Titiana McGrath.

Lino Graglia offered some years ago that the three clauses in the 14th Amendment – privileges and immunities, due process, and equal protection – can be understood as instructions to legislatures, courts, and the executive respectively. As part of the anarcho-tyranny into which we’ve descended, ‘equal protection’ is now a roving mandate for judges to invalidate any public policy they don’t care for while at the same time generates no obligation for prosecutors to treat like cases like.

Since the courts were for the most part in cahoots with the Weismann crew scamsters, I’m not holding out much hope for this Mr. Vaughn. The Democratic Party and the occupational guilds for which it is the electoral vehicle have done a jim dandy job of turning common institutions into agents of partisan abuse and rent-extraction with no legitimacy to any sentient person.

The Dems’ policy ideas are so stupid they can’t allow anyone to communicate the Truth.

The visions of concentration camps dancing in their shrunken heads are becoming reality.

Richard Durbin, who has never come clean about his office’s dealings with James T. Hodgkinson, was on the tube talking rot about ‘domestic terrorism’ last night. The actuarial tables say that man can expect another 10 years or so on this Earth, of which he’ll spend about 18 months non compos mentis. This is how he wants to spend those years. The tiresome Bryan Caplan said some years ago that he’d concluded most politicians are evil people. That’s looking more and more true each year.

Yes! Let us see in print who in Justice and FBI issued the policy and arrest warrant for the crime of satire.
Not quite on the same topic but close – shouldn’t Stacy Abraham’s be prosecuted because she still has not conceded her loss of of the GA Governor race. Isn’t what’s possible for the gander be possible for the goose?

Wait, wasn’t it Trump who was supposed to be the dictator? Yet I cannot name a single person arrested for spreading “misinformation” and satire about him— and plenty of folks did that.

Biden’s side is ‘unifying’, even though they act like fascist thugs, and Trump was a ‘dictator’, even though he never threw anyone in jail for daring to satirize him. Got it.

Those of us on the Libertarian side of politics have been warning for decades of the abuse of the citizenry by government at all levels. This is merely a foretaste of what is to come. The permanent stationing of troops and fencing in Wash. DC is already starting.

If the satirical memes pose no issues, why are they not posted here? There is more to this story than this article would care to admit.

You might tell your handlers at Correct-the-Record that you shouldn’t have to attempt to defend every asininity that comes down the pike.

This prosecution is going nowhere fast since the statute

I certainly hope he won’t be assigned some cretin like Emmett Sullivan or the like characters who’ve kept the Mann lawsuit against Mark Steyn bottled up for eight years in the DC Superior Court. I can just see a process-is-punishment case dragged out, the defendant’s supporters attempting to set up a GoFundMe account, and the account getting shut down by whomever because reasons.

something liberals used to pretend to be concerned about.

Cannot help but notice that Allen Drury called it nearly 50 years ago. You have whole academic disciplines devoted to nonsense, and a newspaper reporter turned pulp-thriller writer saw where the political culture was headed.

One might also recall in that same time period Irving Howe’s brief recollection of meeting for the first time with the principals of the Students for a Democratic Society, posing purveyors of ‘participatory democracy’, ca. 1965. He said he had a definite feeling that if it came to that, Tom Hayden wouldn’t hesitate to have him shot.

While we’re at it, note that (for the most part) the non-Communist Parties were in Eastern Europe were successfully suborned during the immediate postwar period, especially the social democratic parties (of whom only the Roumanian party resisted). You want to see what that looks like in real time, Max Boot, David French, Wm Kristol, and a scrum of characters at National Review and Hot Air are busy showing you.
