The New Censorship

Authoritarianism is perfectly constitutional as long as it’s outsourced to the private sector.

How many idiot Libertarians and Republicans will say this as freedom is crushed by Big Tech in unspoken coordination with the Puppetmasters Administration?  The Covid censorship and the Election censorship were just dry runs.  They want those who dissent to be isolated, their voices only heard by themselves.  This is tyranny pure and simple.  Quite a few members of generation snowflake, and idiots of all ages, are all in favor of it.  A current opinion piece from CNet calls for the creation of a worldwide body the author calls NetMod to be the Grand Inquisitor of the Internet:

Privacy advocates, social media provocateurs and anyone else who dips into extremism online may quarrel that this idea infringes on free expression. Maybe it does. But social media can live without neo-Nazis. It can go on without the QAnon child abuse conspiracy, anti-Vaxxers and Holocaust deniers. Social media is fine without people streaming mass murder for a half hour before anything’s done. It doesn’t need the president of the United States undermining our democracy and fomenting violence for weeks, capped off by Wednesday’s ugly scene when a violent pro-Trump mob stormed the US Capitol, leaving five people dead, including a Capitol police officer

This cycle of reckless irresponsibility has to end. It’s time we reckon with what Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have wrought. Whether they can’t or won’t address the situation no longer matters. They must.

Go here to read the rest.  Like all fools throughout history baying for censorship of ideas they hate, I am sure the author is certain that the ideas he supports would never, ever be censored.  It is at times like these that I recall the old adage:  History is a tragedy to those who feel, a comedy to those who think.

Don’t forget religious censorship. In many places you can’t express what the Catholic Church teaches in regard to abortion, homosexuality, the reality of two sets, etc. A friend was let go from a “big tech” company a week or so before Christmas. Excellent reviews, clients liked him, sold millions of dollars worth of services, but he was also a believing Catholic white male, who was married to a woman and had more than two kids. With the new Administration about to take control I guess they felt that they didn’t have worry and let him go. BTW, he NEVER expressed his opinion on any of the thing listed above to his co-workers or clients. However he used to run a Catholic blog so his beliefs are out there to be found.

I was suspended yesterday from Twitter, an account I have used only sparingly for the past couple of years and having only about 650 “followers”, which is miniscule by their standards. My last post was a New Year greeting on 12/30. The notice claimed the suspension is for “spam or platform manipulation.” My profile contains a #Trump2020 “hashtag.” I suspect that is the real reason. I sent in an “appeal” and await their explanation. I was planning to deactivate the thing anyway because of their purge, but it will still be interesting to see what excuse they come up with.

Fired Chicago real-estate agent says she was at Capitol protest to ‘support my president’

“(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The real estate company @ Properties has fired one of its Chicago agents because the company says she “acknowledged on social media that she took part in ‘storming the capitol.’”
But the agent, Libby Andrews, tells WBBM Newsradio she just went to Washington to support the president.
Andews said she sang the National Anthem with “other like-minded patriots” but recalls thinking the turnout was small where she was outside the building.
She posted a photo later saying, “After storming the capital a good glass of champagne is needed.” But Andrews said that’s just a phrase she and others used when they were singing on the steps of the Capitol.
The 56-year-old Andrews, at the airport in Washington Thursday, said she was shocked to hear she’d been fired by @ Properties.
“This company sent out an email to thousands of people, denigrating me and my reputation without even asking me if I did any of those things,” she said.

“They just accused me — they were libelous — they accused me of activities I did not do. Obviously, it was very effective on their part. It got to a lot of people because I’m getting called by a lot of people — yourself, news stations, reporters.
“And I’m being harassed. I’m getting emails, texts and just all sorts of horrible things from people when all I did was go support my president.”

Andrews says she was at the Capitol on Wednesday but was not aware people were storming it and didn’t know about it until she saw it on TV later.

Liberals can hardly speak without misleading people. The “five people dead” include a late middle aged protester who had a heart attack, a late middle aged protester who had a stroke, another protester who had some other like event, a young adult protester who was shot dead by a police officer (in circumstances which suggest he might soon be under indictment) and a Capitol police officer who died under circumstances that have yet to be elucidated by the coroner. For this, people like Andrew McCarthy blame Trump, even though he never incited anyone to do anything but protest.

The Covid censorship and the Election censorship were just dry runs.

It’s amazing what a Borg-mind the left has. The President offers a a couple of sentences about the possible benefits of HQL (derived from case reports from doctors who have had satisfactory results) and thereafter physicians who offer satisfactory case reports get banned by various media.

Fired Chicago real-estate agent says she was at Capitol protest to ‘support my president’

You may not be interested in the gleichschaltung but the gleichschaltung is interested in you. I have no understanding of businessmen who do not value employees for their skills and demonstrated benefit to the company. One of the more egregious examples was the step-mother of one of the police officers being prosecuted by the Fulton County (GA) DA. She was summarily fired, no reason given, by the company president. The only thing that makes sense to me is that companies which aren’t run by their compliance people are run by their marketers, and marketers are susceptible to bandwagon effects.

The latest information on Brian Sicknick is that he had a blood clot in his brain. That can be caused by trauma or by some other event. The anomaly right now is that he’d texted his family Wednesday evening that he’d been pepper sprayed a couple of times, but mentioned no blow to the head. It was hours after his engagement with protesters that he collapsed in the “division office”. I’m going to guess that he had some sort of minor head injury that was in just the wrong place. See, for another example, the actress Natasha Richardson (though she had an epidural hematoma and not a blood clot).

USA Today is cheerleading for felony murder charges against whomever encountered Ofc. Sicknick and then incitement charges against the President. That would require re-conceptualizing the presence of the protesters at the Capitol as a ‘burglary’.

A company can be delisted from all app stores, have it hosting services deny them service, be disallowed from using all payment processors and DDOS protection services and there will still be useful idiots who say “That’s just the free market working, so it isn’t censorship.”

Art-
I just lost an uncle to what they’re pretty sure was a blood clot in his heart (autopsy pending) caused by basically bad luck. That side of the family has a mutation that makes blood clots a much bigger risk from pretty much anything.

I’ve had a look at the video clip where Ashli Babbitt was shot. It’s hard to even make her out because she was in the middle of a scrum of people. It looks like the officer in question just fired at random into the scrum. There doesn’t appear to have been anyone coming after him at that moment, nor can you hear him say anything before opening fire. There was a door between him and the scrum.

I’m sorry to hear that.

I also have some sort of anomaly which is associated with clots (phlebitis and DVT in my case). Haven’t had one which has traveled.
