Kipling warned us long ago:
So they bought us freedom, not at little cost therefore we must watch for kings, lest our gain be lost Over all things certain, this is sure indeed Suffer not the old king, for we know the breed. Give no ear to bondsman bidding us endure whining "He is week and far", crying "Time will cure" They would beg us barter, wait his yeilding mood pledge the years we hold in trust, pawn our brothers' blood How so great their clamor, what so good their claim Suffer not the old king under any name nothing here unproven, nothing new to learn It is written what shall fall if the king returns. He will mark our going, question whence we came Set his gaurds about us, all in freedom's name He will take a tribute, toll of all our ware He will change our gold for arms- that we may not bare. He will peep and mutter and the night shall bring watcher's 'neith our window, lest we mock the king Strangers of his counsel, hirelings of his pay- These will deal our justice out: sell, deny, delay. We shall drink dishonor, we shall eat abuse for the land we live in, for the tounge we use. We will take our station, dirt beneath his feet While his hired captains jeer us in the street. Cruel in the shadow, crafty in the sun. Far beyond his boarder shall his teachings run Long forgotten bondage, dwarfing heart and brain All our fathers died to lose, he shall bind again. Nothing here is guessed at, random or untrue swings the wheel full circle, brims the cup anew Nothing here unproven, nothing here is hid Step by step and word for word, so the old kings did. Step by step, word for word, who is ruled may read suffer not the old king, for we know the breed. All the rights they promise, all the wrong they bring Keepers of the judgement, suffer not the king. I would prefer a thousand plagues to the loss of freedom that we have experienced around the globe. No truce with the new Kings.
While we’re at it, did you catch this?

There are days when you get the impression that public agencies exist to provide salaries for people and that anything they accomplish in the interim between paychecks is by-product.
The states which are vaccinating their publics most rapidly as of today are South Dakota and West Virginia.

Did it strike you that congressional Republicans might as well have been fast asleep during the summer mayhem?

This from Gov. Northam’s Virginia. At their rate they’re getting the doses in, they’ll have Virginians over the age of 60 all vaccinated in 11 years.
Note, in preparation for the 2018-19 flu season, 28 million vaccines a month were administered.
Steve Sailer, like many other sane individuals, have lost their common sense during this bizarre time.

Huh?
Thanks for the links, Art. Indeed, the slow rollout will only reinforce the belief that the crisis is not serious, and was only amped up for political purposes.
Having a Covid-infected congresswoman present for Nancy Pelosi’s re-election as Speaker also increases public distrust.

The dashboard of the Virginia Dept. of Health reports 504 vaccine doses were administered on 3 January 2021. Virginia has 1.902 million residents over 60. It also reports that 10% of the doses of vaccine distributed in Virginia to date have made it into someone’s arm.
Maybe Virginia has its over 60 crowd too scared to leave the house to get the vaccine. Maybe they don’t want it.
Government being inept? Wow, that’s shocking. And yet fools expect the government to solve their problems.
Haven’t heard much about the availability of the vaccine in my neck of the VA woods. Most seniors are streaming Mass, Rosaries though limited seating is available. Doubt the Episcopalian churches are open. Post office windows closed or shorter unannounced hours. No mail trucks for 2 days. Christmas card mailed Dec 10 from Rochester NY. delivered 31st. That’s the norm.

Don’t think so. Virginia’s had a relatively easy time of it with this disaster and my Virginia connections are doing their own grocery shopping. Friends of mine using delivery apps in Rochester have been dissatisfied with the results. I have it on reliable authority that Virginia pharmacies are promoting Flu Shots While U Wait and they do this every year.
Again, we’re racing against the wretched British variant and we can’t seem to get more than 2 million doses a month out when 28 million doses is normal for flu shots. South Dakota’s doing the best. About 3% of their population has received the first dose of this (and you need two doses). About 25% of the population needs this vaccine.
Oh, two little vignettes from my close relations.
The one person in my circle jabbed to date is a 46 year old undertaker.
My brother informs me that at his hospital, they have such an oversupply of vaccine that twentysomethings on the staff have been jabbed. (He’s been put on telecommute so hasn’t been jabbed yet).
Virginia was on regular business hours yesterday and vaccinated 1,800 people. If they can manage 10,000 vaccinations a week, they’ll have the medical sector workers and the people over 60 vaccinated by the beginning of August.
