Well this is no surprise. From Lifesite News:
Pope Francis has called for the creation of a global education system yesterday with humanity, not God, at its center.
The Argentinian pontiff introduced his plan in a video released at the delayed “Global Compact on Education” event at the Pontifical Lateran University yesterday afternoon. In the Italian-language video, Pope Francis reflected on the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on children’s education, called “an education catastrophe”, but did not focus on reading, writing or arithmetic. Instead he called for an education that will create a new, universal, “culture” that will serve the whole world.

One can assume that any initiative that Pope Francis signs on to will either be indifferent to the Faith or actively hostile to it. Heckuva job Conclave of 2013, heckuva job.

Pope Francis appears more as an emissary of Satan than of God. Everything he does undermines our Catholic faith. Surely, God will intervene and not let this usurper continue to lead Catholics to hell.
What is this culture (cult, I suppose) of individualism (individual, individualistic, etc) the hierarchy is always talking about and so worried about? It comes off as anti-American and anti-free markets, and very much pro-autocratic government, to me.
I was taught to know that our enemies were the world, the flesh, and the devil.
Apparently, the church has been remiss all these centuries in not telling us that our best hope was “the world” as run by “Caesar.”
Why would anyone bother to convert to such an un-Godly faith?
A “culture that serves the whole world.” -PF
For how many centuries did regular sin filled humanity strive to holiness through the trials, sufferings and teachings of Holy Catholic Church.
How many great Saints have traveled such a road where the pinnacle of their existence was found in love of neighbor. Agape. How this tried and tested school of love have resulted in leading others to union with Christ.
Now a [new universal culture.]
Will his academy of new universal education have room for suffering, redemption and purity of intention to be selfless?
[ or go with your conscience problem solving? ]
Parochial education might need some help, but an overall?
If you haven’t already read it, you should read Lord of the World by Monsignor Benson.
Both Benedict XVI and Francis called it prophetic, though I imagine that they did so for different reasons.
Jesus is the Word of God. His Holiness did base his words on the Word of God. His Holiness was not speaking specifically and exclusively to the Lord’s Flock. He was speaking to all people, no matter their religion, their philosophies their cultures or their politics.
I thought he was clearly attempting to introduce and educate everyone involved and concerned, no matter what their current beliefs, gently and firmly into the Gospel of our Lord.
I don’t doubt you, but, with respect, that’s 1960s The World Sets the Agenda for the Church nonsense. When the World sets the agenda, it’s the World’s agenda, not the Church’s.
You aren’t introducing anyone to the Gospel of our Lord if you don’t mention our Lord or anything in the Gospel.
