All of this is only going to make a difference to a very small number of voters, those who actually listen to him.
A lot of voters will be listening to the debates.

The Biden campaign would dodge the debates if they could. I suspect they assume that doing that would be tantamount to conceding the election, and they are right. Thus we will have the debates and they will be comedy cold, albeit of a fairly dark hue.
A bragging rights bet Bob. I offer two to one odds there will be debates unless Biden dies. He looks none too healthy to me, and the stress he is under in his present state might be lethal. Ah, that would be the beginning of conspiracy theories to beat all other conspiracy theories. Of course Trump could then debate his corpse and few people would be able to discern a difference. MSNBC would praise Biden’s corpse for its statesmanlike demeanor.
Just drag Joe across the finish line somehow and then turn things over to Kamala in time due to “health concerns”…I’ll wager no small sum that a team is drawing up a plan for this as we speak.

The democrats and their massive media complex must have some bomb they’re going to try to drop on Trump and soon. Then they can say “How can our candidate possibly debate Trump? That’s beneath us.” It’s looking to be the only play they have. They can’t let Joe debate.
I suspect they’ll insist on some sort of Zoom debate where they can feed him the answers via TelePrompTer.
Some of this discussion I think is infected with confirmation bias (most people’s words spoken off the cuff look jumbled when put in cold print), but the whole business at Carnegie-Mellon was bizarre and that Mr. Ducklo flailing around when asked whether or not they were using a TelePrompTer in Q & A sessions was telling. I don’t know the technology, myself, but I do know Michael Moore acknowledged that was a TelePrompTer in the the reflection on the glass of the photo he was holding up during the Corden interview. Corden’s a nice-guy comedian from the English Home Counties; I don’t think he puts the screws to anyone in an interview.
What I’m guessing is that James Clyburn managed to generate a preference cascade for Biden in the Democratic primaries, after which Democratic Party sachems discovered they had a dotty old man on their hands. The course of dementia varies according to type and in re Alzheimer’s, the tempo can be quite variable. We knew a couple where first the husband and then the wife were afflicted. The husband went downhill incrementally, and you could still have a coherent conversation with him six years into it. His wife was able to take care of him until about a year before he died. His wife just tanked. She was fine in August of 2004 and in November of 2005 she was in a locked ward unable to form new memories. She was very amiable, but I don’t think she recognized me and her understanding that her husband had died four months previously was…rather insecure. Maureen Reagan said she noticed nothing untoward about her father until the middle of 1993. By August of 1994, he’d stopped recognizing Edmund Morris, who had been following him around for nine years. Morris later said that the decline in his capacity over the six month period running from August of 1994 to February of 1995 was vertiginous.
People ate starting to say that “Harris administration” comment wasn’t a Kinsley gaffe so much as a trial balloon.
Look at the record. China Joe was 100% wrong on every public issue in his 47 years in public life. Dementia could be an improvement.
