He’s a careerist for whom issues are fungible. Mitt Romney’s not much different in genus. (However, Romney’s a capable man who has manifest talents outside of electoral politics, has children with families who are engaged in ordinary business pursuits, hasn’t spawned any children whose lives are a tsunami of corruption, and, hasn’t faced any credible charges of sexual assault, and, I’ll wager, doesn’t have a talent for brazen lying). What’s interesting about Biden’s career is that he’s a man without one asset you can name, yet he’s managed to stay in office for 46 years and has a more than satisfactory shot at the presidency.
For most folks politics is not relevant to their lives. If the Democrats win the election this year there will be an awakening.
The old Biden simply was a corrupt politician on the make who could be depended on to keep a safe Dem senate seat.
