No spoilers. 😉

Thanks for noting that WK. Corrected.
And, then not.
You bet, sir.
If Trump loses I hope he immediately starts a ‘Christian Conservative’ political party. The Republican party doesn’t really want to fight the evils of our times. They are too tied to globalism.
It is impossible that Biden’s numbers could be as good as the pollsters would have us believe, when the man is so clearly exhibiting cognitive impairment.
I’m concerned that the absurd polling results we see are a put-up, the purpose being to make an upcoming orgy of voter fraud more plausible.
This gives me encouragement.

Dukakis: world’s smallest tank commander?

Some of the polls, without a doubt.
Nowadays, they conduct masses of polls. Forty years ago, you might have seen surveys by Gallup (which no longer does election polling), Harris, Roper, and Yankelovich. A decade earlier, it was just Gallup and Harris. Now, the list collecting each week is as long as your arm.
Pollsters can no longer put together valid sampling frames with the decline of landlines (and are unwilling to conduct personal interviews). So, they collect data through various means and then massage it. The results you’re getting are manufactured. Some of them may be better than others. The exit polling data is collected with personal interviews, so is more valid.
I do think there should be more revulsion than we’ve seen over the events of the last two months, but I cannot make sense of swing voters (and, if I believe James Neuchterlein, they’re ain’t much going on inside their heads you could make sense of). Partisan Democrats I know quite well. Their heads are filled with social fictions. You can roll out the data showing that the fictions are fictions, but they cannot process it. Most of them seem lost in diversions. Now, it’s interesting to contemplate how they acquired these fictions and why they are so emotionally invested in them. The two I know best carry around with themselves the idea that they and their fellows are an improvement on previous generations. In one case, its the social matrix her father grew up in that she has in mind. In the other, it’s that, it’s his father in particular, and it’s the country in abstract apart from those two, and it’s also working people in general. I know these people and I knew some of the previous generation; their self-concept is largely an illusion.
A lot of the cancel culture we see today is contra people who are playful with others’ pieties (or just point out, in plain terms, that the pieties are hooey). See the rage at (and crude defamation of ) the late Mike S Adams. The liberal discourse of Alan Dershowitz generation relied on discussion of empirically verifiable phenomena much of the time. Now, liberal discourse relies on bald lies repeated loudly, and people who point out they are lies get fired or stripped of various amenities. The George Floyd extravaganza cries out for a lampoon. It’s a reasonable inference that he died of an overdose of fentanyl. On his best day, he was an ordinary man. Keep in mind, though, that most ordinary men stay out of prison, don’t pick up extra cash performing in porn films, very seldom have four different street drugs coursing around in their system, get married before they turn thirty, and keep the number of ba*tard children they sire below 2. Very few ordinary men will have a horse-drawn carriage for their funeral cortege, especially at a time when public health regulations limit the number of people at a funeral to 10. See Theodore Dalrymple
” In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. ”
The discussion surrounding the medical-psychiatric quackery of the ‘transgender’ phenomenon has the same qualities.
Very well said Art.
