If we have an honest national dialogue on race, I want this gentleman to be part of it.
It gets more dishonest every year, and the inclination to fraudulence is positively correlated with one’s years of formal schooling. One of the few areas of improvement was that, for a period of time, most liberals quit harassing the police. Well, now its worse than it ever was.
Remember that Chipotle fiasco from a year or two back? Where a manager refused to have the food for a group of Somalis prepared until they prepared. (She did not say a word against their race, but only said that those specific individuals had stolen food without paying before. And indeed that group had not only stolen repeatedly from restaurants for years, but they bragged about it on social media.)
Within less than 24 hours she was fired and vilified in every major news outlet, while the dine and dashers were given an apology from the Chipotle main office.
And yet even this incident was used as an example of how helpless and discriminated against black people are.
Mr. Sowell is a treasure. His book, “White Liberals and Black Rednecks” can be found on utube. They even read it for you. He just turned 90. He is a very personable scholar. He has a chapter on race and slavery if you can’t listen to the entire book.
For a Catholic, any discussion about the dishonesty surrounding the topic of race begins with the USCCB. Those cowards and heretics know that fatherlessness is the real reason for the perverse social conditions prevailing in much of the black community, but they spout their lies about institutional racism instead. For instance, they actually would tell you racism causes poverty when they know for a fact that fatherlessness does. It’s one thing not to lead, but another to be an actual accomplice to a problem. Cowards and heretics!
Seen on Instapundit. “Dear White Parents, Stop caring about your your children.” End white privilege!
