One of the great comedic talents of his day, Gene Wilder passed away yesterday at age 83. Like so many in Hollywood, Wilder was a political liberal. Unlike so many in Hollywood, he remembered that his function was to entertain, and that people did not come to his films to hear him spout off on politics. I will miss him.
Our family watched Willy Wonka yesterday in his honour.
An obviously good hearted man.
I will miss him too.
In the age of rage I will miss his quiet, simple, clean, slightly skewed, head scratching ironic sense of humor.
