The Pope has received criticism from an unusual source in regard to his contention that there is nothing religious about the war being waged by jihadists:
The Islamic State terror group has come out publicly to reject Pope Francis’ claims that the war being waged by Islamic terrorists is not religious in nature, assuring the pontiff that their sole motivation is religious and sanctioned by Allah in the Qur’an.
In the most recent issue of Dabiq, the propaganda magazine of the Islamic State, ISIS criticizes Pope Francis for his naïveté in clinging to the conviction that Muslims want peace and that acts of Islamic terror are economically motivated.
“This is a divinely-warranted war between the Muslim nation and the nations of disbelief,” the authors state in an article titled “By the Sword.”
The Islamic State directly attacks Francis for claiming that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Quran are opposed to every form of violence,” saying that by doing this, “Francis continues to hide behind a deceptive veil of ‘good will,’ covering his actual intentions of pacifying the Muslim nation.”
Pope Francis “has struggled against reality” in his efforts to portray Islam as a religion of peace, the article insists, before going on to urge all Muslims to take up the sword of jihad, the “greatest obligation” of a true Muslim.
Despite the obviously religious nature of their attacks, the article states, “many people in Crusader countries express shock and even disgust that Islamic State leadership ‘uses religion to justify violence.’”
“Indeed, waging jihad – spreading the rule of Allah by the sword – is an obligation found in the Quran, the word of our Lord,” it reads.
“The blood of the disbelievers is obligatory to spill by default. The command is clear. Kill the disbelievers, as Allah said, ‘Then kill the polytheists wherever you find them.’”
Go here to read the rest. From history, the Koran, the hadiths of Mohammed, and muslim commentators down through the ages, it is obvious that the jihadists are right and the Pope is wrong. Most Muslims are not jihadists, but the jihadists have ample authority for their war from their religion. Catholics should be quite aware that the failure of most adherents of a faith to follow a teaching of the faith does not alter the teaching.

The Vatican Library….(priceless.)
Possibly PF could alter his schedule to catch up on some good reading. Just a suggestion.
The ISIS author takes the opportunity to castigate the pope and with the same swing of the word-sword, compel any “moderate” Muslims who may want to publicly reject jihad, back into their closet.
ROFLOL….this Pope by his lack of research into the Koran and by his love of his own ideas even gets terrorists more angry than they were….prior to reading him. His airplane interviews are a form of mental drone warfare that wounds both the good and the evil. The UN security council should meet and outlaw his interviews above a certain height.
“Kill the polytheists”. That, to me, is the definitive proof that Islam is false. Christianity has never claimed to be tritheistic. God would know that. Some poorly educated guy in 7th-century Saudi Arabia might not. If he tells people that God told him that Christians are tritheistic, there are only two possibilities: that God was wrong, or he was.
And it’s not enough to claim that Christianity is tritheistic even if it pretends it isn’t. It makes a claim that a Muslim might find impossible, but that’s the claim it makes. Christianity claims that there is one triune God. Buddhism claims that there is no God – something I find impossible, but the fact that I find it impossible doesn’t change the claim. I have no right to go around saying that Buddhists believe that Jesus Christ is God simply because I find any other claim to be false. Islam has no right to claim that Christianity is tritheistic, and if anyone holds up a book that makes that claim, the book is mistaken.
Pope Francis continues to make himself an absurd figure on the world stage in his efforts to shield himself and us from the truth. He is simply too much–even for the bad guys. He is a beacon of confusion towards a world in chaos. Let his time on earth pass quickly.
When I clicked on the first link, it says item not available. Are the liberals trying to scrub the internet??
Will never understand why the Catholic Church (check the Catechism) and so many of its flock give this man-made cut-and-paste “religion” so much credence and respect: the attribute of “monotheism” is not enough reason, especially if the mono-god goads its followers to commit mayhem and murders

Please send copies of this article to George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama, the only two US Presidents to ever call these Muslim “head choppers” the “Religion of Peace!
