Winter

Something for the weekend.  As Illinois is locked in yet another storm in this Fimbulwinter, there is only one appropriate song:  Winter from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Don.
I’m really starting to feel just a little bit guilty about our glorious summer, and you guys in the whole north of US – and Europe – shivering in way below zero temps. I’ve been working all my spare time building a new deck for my daughter and son-in-law ( and gaining a sun-tan). I have been obliged to force myself to indulge in a couple of pints of ale to replace all the vital minerals and trace elements lost through excessive perspiration at the end of each day – for purely medicinal purposes, you understand, and then following with a choice shiraz with dinner.
While I’ve been writing this little bit of tripish trivia, I’ve been listening to the glorious music of Vivaldi you’ve linked – truly one of the best of Italian classical composers.
Thank you. 🙂

“Trembling with cold amidst the freezing snow, while a frightful wind harshly blows, running and stamping one’s feet every minute, and feeling one’s teeth chatter from the extreme cold;” Sounds just like New Hampshire. If the Red Priest had lived in NH, he would had to make the Winter concerto quite a bit longer than the others. 🙂

Don the Kiwi, there is no need to apologize. We’ll get our heat in a little over four months. I anxiously await spring so that my boys can play outside and burn off the pent up energy they have (it would fill oil tankers at the moment).
