  • I see myself purchasing multiple copies of this great Americans work, D’Souza.

    Great review Don.
I can’t wait to see it.

  • What is it about the far right that insists on using “democrat” as an adjective? It is and always has been the Democratic Party, not the “democrat party.” I can understand uneducated figures like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity not knowing any better, but the author of this piece purports to legal qaulifications, which presuppose an undergraduate degree as well as law school

  • I do it James because it bugs Democratics. That and the fact that there is nothing democratic about the Democrat Party. Republicans have been referring to the Democrat party as long as there has been a Republican party. Of course Democrats have used the term Democrat party on occasion over the years. As for me being “far right” that is only true if you view Obama as a moderate.

  • Grammar Nazism….always the bellow of frustration that one wanted hidden has been exposed.

The Clinton Foundation Made Millions off Destitute Haitians

Wednesday, July 20, AD 2016

Dinesh D’Souza’ s movie Hillary’s America:  The Secret History of the Democratic Party is being released this weekend and I am seeing it with my bride and my son.  Full review to follow.  In the meantime D’Souza explains at National Review Online how the Clinton Foundation made a fortune off destitute Haitians:

In January 2015 a group of Haitians surrounded the New York offices of the Clinton Foundation. They chanted slogans, accusing Bill and Hillary Clinton of having robbed them of “billions of dollars.” Two months later, the Haitians were at it again, accusing the Clintons of duplicity, malfeasance, and theft. And in May 2015, they were back, this time outside New York’s Cipriani, where Bill Clinton received an award and collected a $500,000 check for his foundation. “Clinton, where’s the money?” the Haitian signs read. “In whose pockets?” Said Dhoud Andre of the Commission Against Dictatorship, “We are telling the world of the crimes that Bill and Hillary Clinton are responsible for in Haiti.”
Haitians like Andre may sound a bit strident, but he and the protesters had good reason to be disgruntled. They had suffered a heavy blow from Mother Nature, and now it appeared that they were being battered again — this time by the Clintons. Their story goes back to 2010, when a massive 7.0 earthquake devastated the island, killing more than 200,000 people, leveling 100,000 homes, and leaving 1.5 million people destitute.
The devastating effect of the earthquake on a very poor nation provoked worldwide concern and inspired an outpouring of aid money intended to rebuild Haiti. Countries around the world, as well as private and philanthropic groups such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, provided some $10.5 billion in aid, with $3.9 billion of it coming from the United States.
Haitians such as Andre, however, noticed that very little of this aid money actually got to poor people in Haiti. Some projects championed by the Clintons, such as the building of industrial parks and posh hotels, cost a great deal of money and offered scarce benefits to the truly needy. Port-au-Prince was supposed to be rebuilt; it was never rebuilt. Projects aimed at creating jobs proved to be bitter disappointments. Haitian unemployment remained high, largely undented by the funds that were supposed to pour into the country. Famine and illness continued to devastate the island nation.
The Haitians were initially sympathetic to the Clintons. One may say they believed in the message of “hope and change.” With his customary overstatement, Bill told the media, “Wouldn’t it be great if they become the first wireless nation in the world? They could, I’m telling you, they really could.”
I don’t blame the Haitians for falling for it; Bill is one of the world’s greatest story-tellers. He has fooled people far more sophisticated than the poor Haitians. Over time, however, the Haitians wised up. Whatever their initial expectations, many saw that much of the aid money seems never to have reached its destination; rather, it disappeared along the way.

Where did it go? It did not escape the attention of the Haitians that Bill Clinton was the designated UN representative for aid to Haiti. Following the earthquake, Bill Clinton had with media fanfare established the Haiti Reconstruction Fund. Meanwhile, his wife Hillary was the United States secretary of state. She was in charge of U.S. aid allocated to Haiti. Together the Clintons were the two most powerful people who controlled the flow of funds to Haiti from around the world.

The Haitian protesters noticed an interesting pattern involving the Clintons and the designation of how aid funds were used.  They observed that a number of companies that received contracts in Haiti happened to be entities that made large donations to the Clinton Foundation. The Haitian contracts appeared less tailored to the needs of Haiti than to the needs of the companies that were performing the services. In sum, Haitian deals appeared to be a quid pro quo for filling the coffers of the Clintons.
For example, the Clinton Foundation selected Clayton Homes, a construction company owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, to build temporary shelters in Haiti. Buffett is an active member of the Clinton Global Initiative who has donated generously to the Clintons as well as the Clinton Foundation. The contract was supposed to be given through the normal United Nations bidding process, with the deal going to the lowest bidder who met the project’s standards. UN officials said, however, that the contract was never competitively bid for.
Clayton offered to build “hurricane-proof trailers” but what they actually delivered turned out to be a disaster. The trailers were structurally unsafe, with high levels of formaldehyde and insulation coming out of the walls. There were problems with mold and fumes. The stifling heat inside made Haitians sick and many of them abandoned the trailers because they were ill-constructed and unusable.
The Clintons also funneled $10 million in federal loans to a firm called InnoVida, headed by Clinton donor Claudio Osorio. Osorio had loaded its board with Clinton cronies, including longtime Clinton ally General Wesley Clark; Hillary’s 2008 finance director Jonathan Mantz; and Democratic fundraiser Chris Korge who has helped raise millions for the Clintons.
Normally the loan approval process takes months or even years. But in this case, a government official wrote, “Former President Bill Clinton is personally in contact with the company to organize its logistical and support needs. And as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has made available State Department resources to assist with logistical arrangements.”
InnoVida had not even provided an independently audited financial report that is normally a requirement for such applications. This requirement, however, was waived. On the basis of the Clinton connection, InnoVida’s application was fast-tracked and approved in two weeks.
The company, however, defaulted on the loan and never built any houses. An investigation revealed that Osorio had diverted company funds to pay for his Miami Beach mansion, his Maserati, and his Colorado ski chalet. He pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering in 2013, and is currently serving a twelve-year prison term on fraud charges related to the loan.
Several Clinton cronies showed up with Bill to a 2011 Housing Expo that cost more than $2 million to stage. Bill Clinton said it would be a model for the construction of thousands of homes in Haiti. In reality, no homes have been built. A few dozen model units were constructed but even they have not been sold. Rather, they are now abandoned and have been taken over by squatters.

  • The Clinton’s are vermin. Let’s hope more folks recognize it.

  • I’d bet that Ivanka Trump would have built those homes if given the chance.

  • The problem is not that Hillary is a corrupt, criminal, lying, incompetent , unethical psychopath – everybody knows it. The problem is that her idiotic worshipers don’t care.

  • The problem is that informed individuals such as ourselves, do not take all of the necessary steps to inform our countrymen of these blatant abuses. Agian, Dinesh D’Souza is sounding the bell. Now it’s up to us.

    Great job Mr. McClarey.

    Circulating this post NOW.

  • The Clintons are boss compared to The Commission. Multitudes of books have been written about the disgusting deeds of Bill and Hilary Clinton. Limbaugh’s show grew leaps and bounds due to Bill Clinton. Jim Quinn used to go apoplectic over Clinton. I am sure there have been others….but none of their warnings made any damn difference.
A complicit media and Hollywood made damn sure those thieves would always have a Goebbels like propaganda ring around them.
The Clintons and their sycophants deserve each other but the nation deserves better.

  • So many Catholics say they are voting for her.

  • “Go here and read the rest.”
    link is broken.

  • @Anzlyne.

    I’m sadly not surprised.
Thank the USCCB and their silence.
    Why should they instruct Catholics?
There comfortable. They see no need to speak up. All about the cash flow.

  • Go here and read the rest.”

Thanks for catching that. I have fixed the link.

  • I have no difficulty at all imagining most Ordinaries and Auxiliaries in America will be voting for Hillary. Very sad.

  • Yes, the Catholic I know who are voting for her say they think the status quo is more prudent than what change Trump might bring. They fear war and more economic turbulence. The problems of gay marriage and abortion- the can live with- doesn’t affect them.

  • plus they think Trump is a crook too.

Hillary’s America

Monday, May 23, AD 2016

Dinesh D’Souza, convicted felon in a donation bundling scandal when a friend of his was running for the Senate from New York , (as liberal Harvard Professor of Law Alan Dershowitz  has noted: “charging him with a felony for this doesn’t sound like a proper exercise of prosecutorial discretion…. I can’t help but think that [D’Souza’s] politics have something to do with it…. It smacks of selective prosecution.” ), has a new film out in July which will focus on the history of the Democrat Party.   From the trailer it should be worth watching.

  • God bless him.

I bought the “Obama’s America 2016,” as a conversation starter just prior to the 12′ presidential election. I had “loaned” it out to numerous associates, and the last one kept it, or burned it. I can’t recall which one it was, but that’s another story. D’Souza is a Micheal Moore without the communist agenda nor the “bowling for hygiene,” look. An American citizen that isn’t hell bent on destroying America.

I’m sure I will love his new piece about the history of the Democratic party. Can’t wait.
This time however, two DVD’s to purchase… just to be safe.

  • I bought the DVD “Obama’s America 2016” – I bought it on line from the Sates; but the problem for me was that it wasn’t programmed for this part of the world, so haven’t been able to watch it yet.
However, a freind of mine has just got a new type of player, so will try it on that.
Dinesh D’Sousa is a true American, even though he’s an import. God bless him.

  • The Democrat Party…..organized crime perfected.

  • Prosecuting D’Sousa was the equivalent of giving one Indy 500 driver a speeding ticket.
OTOH, a real crook, Hillary, is running for POTUS. There is no justice.
Pray for the best. Prepare for the worst.

  • @Don the Kiwi

What’s a matter? The DVD spinning counter clockwise?… bad joke. 🙁

    @ T. Shaw

    Preparing! Always preparing.
The rough road ahead is not forever… kind of like driving the AlCan, (Alaskan Canadian Hwy.) When we drove it years ago to Anchorage it was beautiful, but L O N G.

  • God often does not chose the virtuous and the holy to bring a message. Sometimes the person is very self-destructive. Jonah comes to mind. Maybe after D’Souza has spent some time in the belly of the whale that is the Federal Penitentiary, he will straighten up and fly right. Oh what a pun for right he flies! 😉

  • IIRC, d’Souza’s adulteries were subsequent to being tossed aside by his 1st wife Given what we’ve seen over the last year re the IRS, I would not buy it if the Justice department were to assert that his (selective) prosecution were not politically motivated.

D’Souza has a talent for producing entertaining political propaganda that makes a profit. He may eventually have as much impact

He’s 55. I recall seeing his name in print when I was in high school 30+ years ago. His old confederates at the Dartmouth Review have gone into various other occupations while d’Souza has worked as an opinion journalist. I tend to doubt a man his age will have all that much more impact than he has to date.

  • We enjoyed the movie. The importance of “Americanism” committees on school boards came up inout discussion afterwards. Maybe those committees who check textbooks for anti American propaganda in textbooks are a thing of the past. We still had one at our kid’s school in Nebraska in the 80’s, 90’s and ’10s.
Zinn and his ilk have been very successful in forming youngsters in this country. Proverb 22:6 “Train the young in the way they should go;even when old, they will not swerve from it.” Trying to talk with some of our younger relatives over the Fourth we found just how much they have been led away from a positive view of America.

  • I hope that he will use his time in the slammer for prayer and reflection. God has given him many gifts, but his self destructive behavior, if it continues, will in time eclipse them all.
Very well put and a cautionary tale for us all.
Review, that’s well and good, but where is America now headed?
From her current path, it appears that she is determined to share in The Fate of Nations Forgetful of God [cf. Ps 9]

  • In the case of conquest, we must distinguish between possession, which is a fact and ownership, which is a right.
According to the Institutes (2:1 ”ea quae ex hostibus capimus iure gentium statim nostra fiunt” [“by the law of nations, what we take from the enemy at once becomes ours] The reason is obvious enough; ownership, or any other right, can only exist within the context of a legal order, but there is no legal order common to enemies. Now, to conquer means to give laws, superseding those that exist, except insofar as the conqueror chooses to continue them.

Property laws can differ greatly; the Classicist, Charles Rollin (1661-1741), reminds us, “Theft was permitted in Sparta. It was severely punished among the Scythians. The reason for this difference is obvious: the law, which alone determines the right to property and the use of goods, granted a private individual no right, among the Scythians, to the goods of another person, whereas in Sparta the contrary was the case.”

Mirabeau, speaking of property, by which he means ownership and its derivatives, says rightly, “Property is a social creation. The laws not only protect and maintain property; they bring it into being; they determine its scope and the extent that it occupies in the rights of the citizens” This accords with St Thomas’s teaching, “the division of possessions is not according to the natural law, but rather arose from human agreement which belongs to positive law, as stated above (57, 2,3) Hence the ownership of possessions is not contrary to the natural law, but an addition thereto devised by human reason.” [ST IIa IIae Q66, II,obj 1]

  • An interesting footnote about this movie. My cousin, heavy metal rocker Dave Mustain sings and plays the national anthem in America.

  • I would like to see the movie, but won’t with two little boys at home.

First, “we” didn’t steal land from any Indians. There was no United States to steal land when the English, French and Spanish were colonizing. If anyone “stole”, it was them. Given that the Indians usually fought each other, they had the misfortune to come across an adversary with superior technology, economics and military might. Thus has it always been in our world.

Cortez and his Tlaxcalan Indian allies, without which he had no hope of success, took on and defeated the Aztec empire and their human sacrifice practices.

Illegal immigration is due to the failed nations to our South. Mexico has intermittently been a basket case since it achieved independence from Spain. The USA offered money for the land lost in the Mexican-American War (certainly a shameful episode in US history) and in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, payment for territory that was sparsely populated or controlled by Mexico (who took it from Spain just a few decades earlier) was made.

The US bought Florida from Madrid. It is a shame that Madrid did not sell Cuba to Washington as well.

  • I just saw the movie and thought it was quite good. In all my meager Civil War studies I had never read anything about black slave owners! I don’t remember it being in Kens Burns’ documentary either . . .

Stephen E Dalton – I usually can’t stand it when a singer showboats the national Anthem, I’d prefer they just sing it straight (its not about them etc), but your cousin’s rendition was Wonderful!!!

Obama 2016 Out on DVD

Sunday, October 21, AD 2012

Dinesh D’Souza’a Obama 2016 is out on DVD.  It has no special features, but I would recommend purchasing it if you didn’t see the movie.  During its theatrical release earlier this year it earned a stunning 33,000,000 which is fantastic box office for a documentary.  Here is my review which I originally posted on September 2 after seeing the film in a theater:

  • Saw it yesterday. I disagree with D’Souza’s contention that it is anti-colonilism that motivates Obama – unless this implies the anti-colonialism of Marxism. Ultimately, I believe Obama is a Marxist.

I dread the possibility of an second Obama term. I think the long-term consequences (including a completely radicalized Supreme Court) will result in a fundamental change in America.

I still do not like Romney. But he is to be tolerated in the face of far, far, greater evil.

  • “I still do not like Romney. But he is to be tolerated in the face of far, far, greater evil.”

Amen to that Phillip! What D’Souza’s documentary illustrates is how little attention the Mainstream Media has deliberately paid to the background of Obama because they assume that such attention would hurt him. I think the documentary has been such a success because, astonishingly after four years in office, most Americans do no have a clue about Obama’s history prior to his emergence on the national scene in 2004. This studied indifference to informing the public is the ultimate betrayal by most of the Fourth Estate.

  • At the conclusion of the documentary a handful of observers at our showing broke into applause and requests to “tell your family” about this work.
In 07′ Rush L., Glenn B. and a few others tried to convey to the public of Obama’s past acquaintances. Deaf ears syndrome in 08′.
    Please Lord, not again.

  • It will be interesting to see the extent to which it is even mentioned in the Oscar contentions next spring.

  • I have seen the film twice and even though it is very disturbing, I fear that the American people are so ignorant, and yes I mean ignorant that they won’t even get half of it. Those of us who are old enough to remember the aftermath of WWII and praying non stop for the conversion of Russia and being terrified of the Russian threat have no idea of the horrors of the likes of Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin and their ilk. 50 years ago today my husband was sitting on the Czech border on red alert, prepared for war. I don’t think most people realize how close we were to a real WWIII. They were TOTALLY prepared for it and he was prepared to die. There was a Catholic priest with his unit and they were all allowed to go to confession. I truly believe that we are at that precipice again with this president. The only difference is that this president is so arrogant and so pompous and does not love our country and all it stands for as did President Kennedy. This situation we are in has been written about for years and years. This has not just been sprung on the American people, all of these warnings have been poo pooed as “conspiracy theories”. They were not, they are not and now we are left to reap the reward of an illiterate population whose main goal is to let someone else do it. Welfare for all. Lock step zombies waiting for the check from the government to come in. They have been trying to conquer us from within and the time is upon us. They think their plans are coming to frutation over this last 100 years or so. I blame both parties for allowing this to happen, I blame the leadership of our Church for their wishy washy handling of the truths of the faith, but mostly I blame us for falling for what surely has been as plain as the noses are our face. Right is wrong and wrong is right. “If i get told one more time that I am “more Catholic than the Catholic Church”, I swear I am going to fall off the face the earth. Please God Help Us. Really, what were the Crusades about?

  • Jeanne-
    I do feel your angst.
As far as falling off the face of the earth…
    Don’t go!
We need you. Just keep smiling and know that your not alone in this upside-down culture.
    AA-1025 (anti-apostle 1,025) comes to mind.
It’s a story of infiltration of the Catholic church with the intent to destroy her.
Short read, however it is interesting.
    Whats Obama’s intent?
The documentary helps us to answer that question.

Obama 2016 Review

Sunday, September 2, AD 2012

My family and I went to see the documentary Obama 2016 yesterday.  The documentary is based on Dinesh D’Souza’s book The Roots of Obama’s Rage which posits that the key to understanding Obama is that he is motivated by the same anti-colonial ideology that motivated his Kenyan father.  I disagreed with his thesis, so I was uncertain whether I would enjoy the movie.  Read below for my review of the film.  The usual spoiler alert applies.

  • Great look at the influences that formed Mr Obama, fairly reviewed. Thank you.

  • I saw the film on Friday. I agree that it was well done, much better than I expected! It was ironic that so much of it was our president’s own voice reading his autobiography. I, too, was struck by the fact that the film did not focus much on his mother, when his mother is the one who raised him. I think her influence deserved more investigation and time.

There were less than 20 people at our theater in mid TN, so I am glad so many came in your area! I wonder how it will affect this election.

  • I already knew most of the facts given in this movie so it wasn’t anything knew. Obama already scared me if elected so this didn’t help. I think everybody should see this movie before the election.

  • I too was happy and yet astounded by the numbers that attended the opening day of “2016”, here in the Grand Rapids, Mich. area. There was applause @ the end of the viewing! I don’t want to agree/disagree with the reviewers comments about anti-colonialism.

My gut take on the movie was: Obama’s still an enigma to the American people, but the scary part is: most are not aware of this fact. He’s so well placed, poised and patterned in his speech and movites, that Americans aren’t seeing him with what I call “thinking eyes”! Eyes that perceive and know there’s so much more to his agenda. Eyes that have had the scales removed by the Ancient of Days!

  • Phenomenal! Obama was exposed by his own words and actions by a scholar.

  • First, D’Souza is hardly a scholar. He has a BA from Dartmouth. Second most of the quotes are either partial passages taken out of context or changed by the author – misquotes, or, as many would say, lies. D’Souza strings together half-truths and speculation to make his case.

  • No, D’Souza is clearly a scholar as you would realize if you had bothered to read the many books he has written. I especially recommend The Catholic Classics and The End of Racism. One can be a scholar without being a phony doctor. There were no misquotes or out of context quotes of Obama in the film.

  • I just checked on Box Office Mojo and the film has now earned over 26 million dollars, more than ten times its production costs. Astounding.

  • Interesting that Susan Clark belittles D’Souza and his degree from Darmouth. Our current president is a former community organizer with very little experience on anything other then leading groups to divide the country we love!
The movie is well done and I felt A-Political..it was a documentary that allows us to see a view of Obama and his family of origin. Family history does color the views of children…scripture says train up a child in the way he should go; when they grow p they will not depart from it.
Just a thought….what influences us does not have to rule us but this film gives us a clue of what voices he chose to listen too.

  • Maybe Susan has more concern about years of formal schooling than I do- for my part, I think his movie and books show wisdom, good judgment and reason.
The movie wasn’t personal against Obama. It is a good review of everything that has been floating down the stream in these times, that has an effect on all of us in ways we may not even recognize. The movie and the books are an invitation to think more deeply about our own personal response.
