PopeWatch: Sorondo

“Yesterday I asked him whether Our Lord had more than one nature. He said: ‘Just as many as you say, Father.’ Then again I asked him: ‘Supposing the Pope looked up and saw a cloud and said ‘It’s going to rain’, would that be bound to happen?’ ‘Oh, yes, Father.’ ‘But supposing it didn’t?’ He thought a moment and said, “I suppose it would be sort of raining spiritually, only we were too sinful to see it.’”

Rex Mottram on Papal Infallibilty

Well, according to the head of the Pontifical Academy of Science there is no human activity that is not subject to the Pope:

– The head of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences has again inferred that denial of the controversial concept of manmade climate change equates to flat earth mentality.

“From the scientific point of view, the sentence that the earth is warmed by human activity is as true as the sentence: The earth is round!” said Archbishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo.

The archbishop has been a consistent and zealous promoter of manmade climate change as a non-negotiable Church issue, despite the status of care for the environment as a prudential matter.

Climate change ideology continues to be contested as a ploy perpetrated with manipulated data by the left to enact environmental regulations and taxes.

Even so, Archbishop Sorondo dismissed deniers of climate change in a recent Vatican Radio interview as “a small, negligible minority.”

The interview conducted in German contained the headline: “Vatican: ‘Climate change is a fact,’” and centered on reception of Pope Francis’ eco-encyclical Laudato Si’ two years after its release.

Archbishop Sorondo went on in the interview to say that human-affected climate change was considered science. He added that the pope not only has the right but also the duty to rely on science in addition to doctrine and philosophy in seeking out truth.

If the pope expresses himself on such a subject, then this was not arbitrary, he said, as the pope’s words are not restricted to the area of ”doctrine of faith and morals.”

The pope makes use of the truths of science or philosophy to not only explain to man how to get to heaven, said the archbishop, but also what he must do on earth.

All human activities have to do with ethics, the Argentinean archbishop said, so they are already within the jurisdiction of the pope.

Archbishop Sorondo is a close adviser to Pope Francis and the Chancellor of both the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences. He has repeatedly welcomed pro-abortion and population control advocates to the Vatican for conferences under the pretext of the climate issue.

Last month, just before President Donald Trump announced the U.S. would pull out of the controversial Paris Climate Agreement, the archbishop likened climate ideology skeptics to flat-earthers as well.

Withdrawal from the Paris accord “would not only be a disaster but completely unscientific,” he said.

“Saying that we need to rely on coal and oil is like saying that the earth is not round,” Archbishop Sorondo stated. “It is an absurdity dictated by the need to make money.”

He has also repeatedly made the claim that those who don’t subscribe to the manmade climate change theory are in some way subsidized by the oil industry. He did so again in the Vatican Radio interview.

Go here to read the rest.  Innocent III would have blanched at this idea of the Papacy Uber Alles.  In regard to the Pope and science, all wise Popes have heeded what Saint Augustine wrote long ago:

“It not infrequently happens that something about the earth, about the sky, about other elements of this world, about the motion and rotation or even the magnitude and distances of the stars, about definite eclipses of the sun and moon, about the passage of years and seasons, about the nature of animals, of fruits, of stones, and of other such things, may be known with the greatest certainty by reasoning or by experience, even by one who is not a Christian. It is too disgraceful and ruinous, though, and greatly to be avoided, that he [the non-Christian] should hear a Christian speaking so idiotically on these matters, and as if in accord with Christian writings, that he might say that he could scarcely keep from laughing when he saw how totally in error they are. In view of this and in keeping it in mind constantly while dealing with the book of Genesis, I have, insofar as I was able, explained in detail and set forth for consideration the meanings of obscure passages, taking care not to affirm rashly some one meaning to the prejudice of another and perhaps better explanation.

With the scriptures it is a matter of treating about the faith. For that reason, as I have noted repeatedly, if anyone, not understanding the mode of divine eloquence, should find something about these matters [about the physical universe] in our books, or hear of the same from those books, of such a kind that it seems to be at variance with the perceptions of his own rational faculties, let him believe that these other things are in no way necessary to the admonitions or accounts or predictions of the scriptures.”

“From the scientific point of view, the sentence that the earth is warmed by human activity is as true as the sentence: The earth is round!” said Archbishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo.

If the people in the Vatican really believed this, then they would not tout useless worthless solar and wind power to replace fossil fuel. < 30% capacity factor – no sun, no power; no wind, no poer. Rather, they would advocate going nuclear full tilt because only that can supply baseload power 24 / 7 wiith stability and reliability.

The same is true of Angela Merkel who is denuking German, and of the French politicians who are intent on reducing France's nuclear, and of the new South Korean President who wants to denuke South Korea never mind the successful build of four APR-1400 PWRs at Barakah in the UAE – on time and under budget.

It's all male bovine manure. And it enrages me. I was inside an enclosed metal tube mere yards away from an operating nuclear reactor while hundreds of feet beneath he waves for months at a time. IT IS SAFE – safe enough for a 19 year old to operate (that's how old I was when I first got to pull rods from a reactor core), safer than coal, oil and gas.

Global warming! Crap! It's all crap. None of these damn fools believe in it. If they did, then THEY would change THEIR life styles. They wouldn't use fossil fuel cars, airplanes, electricity, trains, etc. any longer. BUT THEY DO NOT BELIEVE! They lie and are liars. They are the offspring of the Father of Liars, and that is the way they will choose to die. Sadly, they want to take us with them. A pox on them all. Let them all be anathema!

Arrrgggghhhh!

“From the scientific point of view, the sentence that the earth is warmed by human activity is as true as the sentence: The earth is round!”

The very definition of:
Equal Opposite Error.

The Pope’s infallibility is only engaged when the Pope teaches the doctrines of Jesus Christ. Jesus said: “My kingdom is not of this world.”
“From the scientific point of view, the sentence that the earth is warmed by human activity is as true as the sentence: The earth is round!” People as pollution is a theme of the Death Peddlers.
If taxpayers are “a small, negligible minority.”, then Climate change enforcers will not need our tax dollars. Climate change enforcers will not even need our informed consent.
Climate change needs hundreds of years to prove its case like Copernicus’ and Galileo’s teaching on the earth revolving around the sun…hundreds of years. There is not enough proof of climate change to be seriously considered a truth, never doctrine nor dogma of the Catholic Church. Even so will these scientists next propose that man will be taxed to prevent volcanic action or perhaps to cover over Yellowstone National Park and Old Faithful Geyser? Time for me to watch “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, or maybe Star Trek for grounding in truth.

To understand just how much of a hoax this man-made “climate change crisis” is, you just have to know a little history of the last forty years. As a kid in the mid-seventies, I remember the climo-scare du jour was the coming ice age. And then within a decade or less it became global warming. Right there, the idea that human activity could change the earth’s core temperature so radically in such a short time should strike anyone as utter nonsense. Another obvious indication is the tweaking of the language. Now, the more ambiguous term “climate change” is used. Any time the language is manipulated like this is an indication that someone is trying to perpetuate a falsehood. This is something the left understands much better than most of us on the right do. This is one reason why hoaxes of this kind are so widely believed.

Given that Archbishop Sorondo believes in man-made global warming he must surely have calculated how many men must be eliminated in order to control the situation. We need to ask him when this information will be released and how he plans to accomplish the necessary mass extermination, e..g, starvation, inciting a nuclear war, or advising suicide. Naturally, all willing participants in Global Salvation would receive a special Mercy Blessing from Pope Francis.

Mary De Voe wrote, “Climate change needs hundreds of years to prove its case like Copernicus’ and Galileo’s teaching on the earth revolving around the sun…hundreds of years.”

Copernicus published his De revolutionibus orbium coelestium in 1543. The first physical evidence of the earth’s annual revolution came in 1725, with James Bradley’s discovery at Oxford of the annual aberration of light, a little under 200 years later.

Of course, Kepler’s publication of the laws of planetary motion between 1609 and 1619 and Newton’s Principia Mathematica in 1687 had long anticipated it. Tycho Brahe, who died in 1601 was the last major astronomer to dispute it.

The COW FART TAX was a tax imposed on farmers for the methane passed by their animals during GLOBAL WARMING. GLOBAL WARMING had to be changed to CLIMATE CHANGE as people could not stop laughing. Now Pope Francis’ “From the scientific point of view, the sentence that the earth is warmed by human activity is as true as the sentence: The earth is round!” is calling for people to be taxed for the methane they pass. That would be called THE PEOPLE FART TAX.
As leader of the free world Pope Francis must first hold his gas before asking other people to do the same. And before taxation or the imposition of abortion to prevent CLIMATE CHANGE.
