Cajun Navy

The national news media seems strangely indifferent to the current Louisiana flooding in comparison to their non-stop coverage of Katrina during the Bush administration.  Be that as it may, a great many people are in a great deal of need in the Pelican State.  In the comboxes please link to worthwhile relief organizations through which funds may be contributed to help out.  While we send material aid lets also remember them in our prayers:

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Holy Mother we ask that you pray to God to strengthen our brothers and sisters afflicted by the floods in Louisiana.  May He grant them grace, lighten their burdens and gladden their hearts.  May He inspire Christians to lend a helping hand to His children in Louisiana in their distress.  Our Lady of Prompt Succor, let the World see why we look to you as our Mother, Guide and Protectress.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.  Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen

We have been praying since Saturday when asked by our son’s future-wife (December wedding) and in-laws in Lake Charles, LA.
.

American Dunkirk. Thank God that despite Hillary’s and Obama’s worst assaults and unlike Katrina’s supine Democrat constituents white, Christian Americans can do for themselves.
.

Question for the #NeverTrumpsters: Will the end/collapse of white, Christian America be a good thing?

Thanks to all for prayers. Water (and looters) gone from our neighborhood. Power back on. Moved back in and no damage. Now getting on to helping neighbors.

Btw, its reported that 80% of homes in Livingston Parish are a total loss. Imagine the outcry if there was a Republican president.

And yes, the Cajun Navy was in our neighborhood getting people out from the back of the development and were completely cut off before they even knew what was happening.

From a Cajun sojourning in a strange land (Virginia’s Northern Neck) I’m proud of, but certainly not suprised by, the incredible outreach attributed to the wonderful people of Lousiana. No FEMA or bloated government handouts created the response that I have seen down in Lattitude I-10, especially the birth of the Cajun Navy. It’s God’s love in action. People of Acadiana, many who struggle in the best of times, (a friend of mine tells me he wil have to work through lunch on the day he dies!) are sharing what little they have with their neighbor’s, and they are jumping in where and when it counts the most. Folks in Washigton, DC don’t get it. The never have and they never will.

This input is from my neice in Baton Rouge. She and my nephew are hosting evacuees: http://www.braf.org/louisiana-flood-relief – this is local, so hopefully more direct assistance.

Also, the Baton Rouge Food Bank took in a significant amount of water and all the food stored to donate to those in need has been ruined. http://brfoodbank.org/2016flood/

Local Salvation Army was also flooded. However, they are still collecting donations. If you go to this link, donations are specifically for the flooding here in SE LA. https://give.salvationarmyusa.org/site/Donation2;jsessionid=00000000.app334b?df_id=15447&15447.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T&NONCE_TOKEN=0B3CBC9CF5D4B7F3C511AD86CAAF4CDA

Thanks for sending this! Hope spreading the word about the ability to donate thru these means helps.

Liz

I am so very moved by this “Cajun Navy” response. I live in Panama City, Fl and would like to know how my family can help these brave responders. If there is a safe way for us to donate financially, please send me that information. God bless, to all the victims of the flood, and these people showing God’s love. Thank you, Raymond McKeever
