As faithful readers of this blog know, I have many times on this blog published posts written by Christopher Johnson of Midwest Conservative Journal. A non-Catholic, he has taken up the cudgels so frequently in defense of the Church that I long ago dubbed him Defender of the Faith. Sadly, Christopher has fallen on hard economic times. He lost his job as a librarian back in 2012 when his position was cut. He is of my vintage, and in your late fifties it is not easy to find employment. (I thank God almost every day that I have been self-employed since 1985.) I think you could count on the fingers of one hand the times over the past eight years that I have asked the readers of this blog to contribute to anything. I am doing so now, however. If you can afford it, please go to his blog and make a donation to him through Paypal. I would regard it as a personal favor. I, of course, have already made a donation. Let us demonstrate that we Catholics remember our friends in their hour of need. Go here to make a donation.
Done.

Thank you Erwin!
Done – frequent reader (and learner from all of you). I don’t “know” you, but I trust you based on your comments and wisdom over the years. I may be gullible but I sense you’d be a good group to stand next to in a battle. May God bless your friend-in-arms…
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Thank you Bob!

Thank you Henry!
I tried 8 times at Paypal and failed. Wrote Bill_not_ IB for a snail mail address.
Bless you Mary!
My daughter, Karin, says that one can never get enough blessings. Thank you Donald McClarey. May God bless us, one and all.
That rule is especially true Mary for lawyers!
Done for Christopher Johnson. My pleasure. Many thanks and blessings for The American Catholic, Donald R. McClarey. First you are a Catholic, then you are a lawyer.
Bless you Mary! May I always remember that order!
Let me share this: Pastor James Yeakel, a priest of St. Francis de Sales told me as I lay in hospital: “Put yourself in God’s hands”.
We do this whenever we pray the Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father…deliver us from evil.”
St. Genevieve, the patron saint of the city of Paris prayed: “Don’t make it too hard” as she walked about the walls of the city, asking God to deliver the inhabitants from the invading Saracens. The city of Paris and its inhabitants were spared.
