Last week I suggested that Joni Ernst, Senator and hog castrator from Iowa, would make a good Veep for Trump, and yesterday he met with her:
The presumptive GOP presidential nominee spent Sunday with Republican Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana, a former congressman with years of political experience.
“Spent time with Indiana Governor Mike Pence and family yesterday,” Trump said Monday morning. “Very impressed, great people!”
Later Trump revealed he’d be spending some time Monday — July 4 — with Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), a rising party star.
Go here to read the rest. His meeting with Pence indicates the strong desire of Trump to get maximum evangelical support, although the way in which Pence folded under corporate pressure on the issue of religious liberty last year would give me pause if I were Trump about how Pence would hold up in a campaign where Trump and his running mate will be routinely compared to Nazis. Pence is running for re-election this year, and under Indiana law he could not run for both positions.
Pence would not be my first choice. His interview on MSNBC on the religious freedom law was ridiculous, and showed an utter lack of preparation. But then, given that Trump is not a choice for me, it’s really a moot point no matter who his VP selection.
Trump is not a choice for me either Jonathan, although I must say I am increasingly aghast at conservatives who view Hillary as a better option for leading this nation.
I tend to agree. I think these posts do a great job of discussing the broader crony-capitalism-elitism that Hillary, et. al., exemplify.

Joni Ernst is a strong smart one – I understand she is a good pro-life Lutheran and also from Southwest Iowa- near my own father’s birthplace 🙂
She would make my vote for Trump much less difficult.
