Interesting information that Pope Francis has disclosed:
Pope Francis has revealed that he received an angry phone call from Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany after he compared Europe to a “barren woman”.
In a speech to the European parliament in November 2014 the pope delivered a withering attack on a “haggard” Europe which he said was “now a grandmother, no longer fertile and vibrant.”
In an interview with Italy’s Corriere della Sera published on Monday, Francis said he had received an angry phone call from Merkel afterwards.
“She was a bit angry because I had compared Europe to a barren woman, incapable of producing children,” Francis said.
“She asked me if I really thought Europe could no longer make children.
“I told her yes it can, and many, because Europe has strong and deep roots,” he said, adding that “in the darkest moments it has always shown itself to have unexpected resources”.
PopeWatch wonders if Merkel was thinking of this when she decided to flood Germany with “refugees” from the Middle East. Pope Francis of course has now convinced heads of state around the globe that with this Pope the concept of a private conservation is a completely foreign one.
Interesting that he stood up to Merkel instead of ingratiating himself.
Pope Francis, and the European bishops in general, are quite supportive of Merkel flooding Germany with (military age male) refugees.
.
Also to be noted the Church is quite supportive of the socialist policies that economically incentive people away from having children-and destroying families
.
Actually, supportive is the wrong word. Demands might be better.
The Roman Pontiff has proven a Latin American stereotype. I know this, being married to a Latina.
The stereotype is that they can’t keep their mouths shut.
Great opening statement by Pope Francis but no follow through. But not surprising as neither he nor the Bishops carry the message of Christ and by their actions have doomed Europe and themselves.
Angela Merkel, should have told the Pope that he just inserted his foot into his mouth (again) – since “A 65 year old German Grandmother Annegret Raunigk, gave birth to quadruplets.”
