Vatican: Kim Davis Who?

imagesW0FFTRGA

Anyone who has any doubt as to how far left the current powers that be at the Vatican are, should simply look at the terrified Vatican reaction to the furor on the left due to the Pope’s meeting with Kim Davis.  The men in charge at the Vatican are now doing what leftists always do when they fall from grace with fellow leftists:  lie, obfuscate and cravenly seek forgiveness.  Allahpundit at Hot Air puts it well:

Here’s the official statement from a Vatican spokesman:

The brief meeting between Mrs. Kim Davis and Pope Francis at the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, DC has continued to provoke comments and discussion. In order to contribute to an objective understanding of what transpired I am able to clarify the following points:

Pope Francis met with several dozen persons who had been invited by the Nunciature to greet him as he prepared to leave Washington for New York City. Such brief greetings occur on all papal visits and are due to the Pope’s characteristic kindness and availability. The only real audience granted by the Pope at the Nunciature was with one of his former students and his family.

The Pope did not enter into the details of the situation of Mrs. Davis and his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support of her position in all of its particular and complex aspects.

Hard to read that as anything but a plea to Francis’s liberal fans in the United States not to write him off because he showed a few moments of kindness to That Woman. But even that bit of distancing might not be enough to secure absolution, which is why some Catholic powers-that-be are now whispering that Francis essentially didn’t even know who he was meeting:

It is a meeting some charge was orchestrated by the man who lived [at the Vatican embassy in Washington], the Pope’s representative here, Carlo Maria Vigano…

A close advisor to Pope Francis tweeted that the Pope was, in his words, “exploited” by those who set up what the CBS 2 source says was a “meeting that never should have taken place.”

Some call it an attempt by highly placed church leaders in the U.S. to diminish the impact of the Pope’s visit.

Vigano tried to sabotage the Pope’s visit by arranging a hot-button meeting with Davis? In that case, how come he or an ally didn’t leak news of the meeting, which emerged only when Davis and her lawyers started talking about after it the Pope had left? More here on the “manipulation” theory:

“I was very disappointed to see the pope having been used that way, and that his willingness to be friendly to someone was turned against him,” Father [James] Martin wrote. “What may originally have prevented them from issuing a statement was the desire not to give this story too much air. But what they eventually came to realize was that they needed to correct some gross misrepresentations of what had happened. It shows that Pope Francis met with many people on the trip, and that she was simply another person who he tried to be kind to.”

Father Rosica’s statement seemed to square with that account.

Asked on Friday if the Vatican press office had been unaware that Ms. Davis had met the pope, Father Rosica said: “No, but I think we may not have been aware of the full impact of the meeting. It is very difficult sometimes when you are looking at things in America from here.”

In other words, maybe an aide whispered the basic details of Davis’s case to Francis five minutes before they met — county clerk, devout Christian, insists her duty to God prevents her from issuing licenses to gay couples — without stressing that her refusal is a monster news story in the United States that could have conceivably devoured coverage of his other priorities during his tour if word of the meeting had gotten out while he was here. Again, though — that doesn’t mean Francis doesn’t endorse her position. All it means is that whoever arranged the meeting didn’t want him to take the sort of media heat for it that she’s been taking for weeks. Which makes you wonder how seriously Vigano or his other aides took his encouragement to Davis to “stay strong” in defense of her position.

Look on the bright side, though: The fact that even the Pope has had to inch away from a symbolic statement of opposition to gay marriage proves that he really did get a taste of modern America during his trip. Gay businessmen, Democratic presidential candidates, even Caitlyn Jenner — anyone otherwise admired by the left who’s expressed a preference for traditional relationships must seek contrition eventually to return to a state of liberal grace. All the Vatican’s doing here is a bit of penance.

Update: Does this count as “staying strong”?

One Vatican official said there was “a sense of regret” that the pope had ever seen Kim Davis, a Kentucky county clerk who went to jail in September for refusing to honor a U.S. Supreme Court ruling and issue same-sex marriage licenses.

Go here to read the rest.  Next we will be hearing that the Pope thought that Kim Davis was a transvestite nun who had been persecuted by red necks in Kentucky.  This Vatican has accomplished something I thought was impossible.  Today, I am a bit embarrassed to be a member of the Catholic Church with such contemptible cowards running it.  I know, I know, I need to separate the human shambling mess Church from the divine spotless Church.  Yes, I intellectually agree with that, but emotionally I wish many of men at the Vatican, in better times, may be exiled to the bleakest monasteries in the possession of the Church.

I am truly embarrassed that this man calls himself Catholic. I knew that he would do something to further divide the Church, but this is disgraceful.

Yes this is embarrassing. It’ll be even worse if the rest of us capitulate too. they have been keeping up the drum beat on this subject so long that some people are already thinking Church opposition to civil unions as well as gay “marriage” are things of the past. The softening of the Church stand has been observed and almost taken as a fait accompli already.
Not yet, not yet.

Look at what they condemn, and look at what they promote. They are afraid. They attack those who can’t hurt them from a worldly perspective. They aren’t concerned with the salvation of souls. They concern themselves with their own worldly desires and dreams. One day maybe they will be surprised by our Lord blessing them with the grace to feel sorrow for their betrayals and lack of faith. Maybe they will be surprised to discover that they never had faith, and that the Way, the Truth, and the Life is the only good in this world. Maybe they will be surprised to finally realize that the One Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church has been blessed by the Life of our Lord Jesus Christ from the time of Saint Peter. Until that day arrives, who are they to judge anyone who doesn’t accept the the faith of the Church? They will feel quite comfortable judging the teachings of the Church, and those who stand against laws that violate the Truth found within it. It’s sorrowful, but God is allowing this to occur, and will bring a greater good that those with worldly sight can’t fathom. We know the truth in our hearts through Christ within His Church, and will keep the faith unto death.

I read it was that scoundrel U.S. papal nuncio Abp. Vigano’ who set up the Pope for the Davis visit. He’s already in trouble — having been punished, I mean assigned, as the nuncio to this country against his own wishes for daring to attempt to clean up Vatican finances, no ? He has joined the rest of us American hoodlums, who as Bill Murray says in “Stripes,” are here because our ancestors got kicked out of every decent country in the world ; ) So who has it out for Vigano’ and why ?

Substitute “Samaritan woman at the well” for “Kim Davis” and then look at the reaction this has gotten. I guess the pope’s “characteristic kindness and availability” really don’t extend to some such as Ms. Davis. There are the peripheries, and then there are the peripheries. I mean, it’s not like Christ “entered into the details of the situation” with the Samaritan woman. If only Christ had had the current Vatican officials to protect him back then.

Anzlyne.
Thanks for the REminder from the Fr Z link.
The clear teaching from our beautiful St.JPII.

This backpedaling is unbecoming of a Christian, but from the leadership authority’s at the Vatican? Unbelievable. The gaystapo has its hands in a choke hold around the neck of our Holy Church. I’m sick of it!

Teach. DO NOT play nice with scorpions.
The effects are catastrophic for the SALVATION of souls.

Last night, while preparing to have our meal with family, the Pope is hugging two proud homosexual’s on National TV. Oh! PR tactic to counter the embarrassment of the K-Davisgate affair.

Amateur hour at the Vatican is becoming increasingly annoying. Poor Kim Davis.
After this episode one can only imagine what she’ll do with her rosaries now. Convert to Catholism? That’s funny!

Remember when it seemed that this stuff was coordinated, organized, and everyone close to the Pope seemed to be on the same team???? I can see why Benedict felt he was not strong enough to fight this fight. Maybe it is time to clean house in the Vatican. Just send them all away to remote monasteries up in the mountains or in the desert for years of silence and prayer.

All of this just strengthens the perception that Pope Francis is all about, and only about, left wing politics. Catholic morality, the diminishment thereof, being just another chit to be used to placate his sought after leftist, agnostic, irreligious constituency. You have to ask yourself why our Pope and many in the hierarchy act like this as appears irrational on its face. One answer, of course, is that the devil has been given temporary control of the Church. What is our response? Prayer and penance. More prayer and penance. And, of course, to continue shedding light on all the areas of darkness in the Catholic Church as Donald McClarey and others are doing so well.

Perhaps the problem is that a majority of the Vatican clergy itself is sodomite. Perhaps that is why they recoil in terror at the thought of the Pope meeting with a woman who had been jailed for refusing to solemnize sodomite unions. Imagine that: grown men in fear of a weak and powerless woman. Perhaps we need another St. Peter Damien to re-issue Liber Gomorrhianus:

Plato. Republic, Book three…if males are all culture and no athletics, they become feminized (which is great in women…..in males, not so much). All Vatican males need 6 hours of mandatory boxing a week or weightlifting or high platform diving which diving accidents will make them go back to boxing in a hurry.

Much thanks for your link.
St. Peter Damian is needed in our day!
We can rally the faithful to intercession with this timely Saint! In the introduction of his work, it’s said the simple monk; “didn’t hesitate in accusing even the Pope’s of that time for their scandalous omissions.”

Great find Paul.
I’ll search out a copy of Liver Gomorrhianus.

Before the People’s Pope was duped into a meeting,
by the anti-modernist forces within the Vatican Embassy,
with the unfeeling and cruel homophobe from Rowan
County, he joyously welcomed a sodomite couple, who are his
old friends, at the Vatican Embassy in D.C.

Franco: You are exactly right. The old homosexual friend friend has stated that in all the years he has known Francis, and that goes back to his days as a teacher and the sodomite was a pupil, Francis never once mentioned his very open homosexual relationship to him. Never once criticized him, never once told him to repent, never once told him for the sake of his eternal soul he needed to get right with the Lord. Pope Francis could have cared less about the sinful lifestyle his friend was leading. Pray and pray a lot about what comes out of the Synod of the Family. I think Francis will push hard for some type of recognition for sodomite “couples” and the schism will not be far behind.

After it’s all said and done the pope, all who live in the Vatican and the priest who shepherd our churches have to face their maker for judgement. May our God have mercy on their souls!!!!

For the rest of us just keep true to the lords 10 commandments and we shall by the grace of God be saved.

Amen!!!!!

What about the possibility of a General Exorcism over the entire Vatican?

Seriously! It couldn’t hurt.

What is weird is our worship of government. We feel the need to get the permission of a nanny government to marry. While the Vatican can certainly restrict gay marriage according to what God requires, nanny governments have got to cut the umbilical cord and let people grow up and marry anybody, even nonessential clerks such as Kim Davis.

Most government busybodies would be nonessential under limited governments. But under an authoritarian government, what citizens do are not up to them but up to big brother. Why is big brother in the business of handing out marriage licenses? Can not that be done otherwise such as in churches?

St. Faustina Kowalska’s Diary entry #1160;
“I am prolonging the time of Mercy for the sake of sinners. But woe to them if they do not recognize this time of My visitation.”

This confusion from the leadership of our Holy Church should be a signal that the hour of judgement is quickening.

If your a practitioner of sodomy, adultery, drunkenness, gluttony and the rest, get your act together while you can. Repent and sin no more. Frequent the Sacraments. Practice acts of Mercy.

Our Lady has held the arm of justice back for a very long time, but she will have to release her grip at some point. When the Angel of the Lord gets the nod, this era will look bright compared to the darkness that will envelop the earth. Could you imagine saying that these we’re the good old days of Holy Church?

Buckle up hang on. Tie your bow lines to the two pillars of St. Bosco’s dream.

Though they deny it.

Though they distort it.

Though they ignore it.

Though they proscribe it.

Though they subvert it.

The truth will prevail.

Government should enforce contracts entered into and protect persons and property. But if government continues to make our decisions for us, when will we escape the extended adolescence initiated in government schools?
Freedom is even more important in diversity else there is a government sponsored tyranny of the majority so evident today.

Nobody is talking about no rules except you. No rules would be anarchy. But freedom can only exist with limited government. Unfortunately, the tendency is to write more government regulations rather than to delete them. Every control freak around wants to use government force to create clones.
This does not mean that you must not adhere to rules in your private life, bu they are rules that you freely choose to live by.

“The only real audience granted by the Pope at the Nunciature was with one of his former students and his family.”

And you can see video of this hysterical meeting at Gloria TV or St Corbinian’s Bear that will make you wonder who is using who. The former student is an open homosexual who brought along his boyfriend (don’t know if they are governmentally ‘married’), a weeping woman, and several other in his entourage. But for a midget or a nun, it would be truly Felliniesque.

It must make Kim Davis real happy to have been thrown under the bus by the leader of the Catholic Church. She didn’t ask to see him. She’s not Catholic. He sought her out, or one of his handlers sought her out. Then when the leftist Francis lovers in the states found out about it they went crazy, their “who am I to judge” hero had abandoned them. No need to worry though. The homosexual lobby in the Vatican would tell the world the “only audience” the pope personally requested to see was an old friend of his from his teaching days, who just happens to be a homosexual living the lifestyle with his sodomite “partner”. So now all’s well. The leftist lovefest continues while faithful Catholics are once against left scratching their heads. The lavender lmafia is again in control. Francis will go down in history as the worst pope in the last 500 years, maybe the last 1000 years. Pray for the church as long as he’s calling the shots.
